Just some brief words.
For those wanting to come to Macau for some sight seeing, the cheapest way is to come to Macau from Malaysia by AirAsia. Depending on the time and date and month that you book, the flight coming and return will be differ. So make your travel plan carefully. You can get a Visa on the spot for Macau. Just fill up the visa form and you are good to go for Malaysian passport. But remember, do not throw away the blue and white paper as it is an indication that you are in with visa. It's best to come here around November to January period for some cold period. It's chilly over here with temperature around 12 degree. Which is right now around 15 out there. Cold winter clothing is needed during this period. Other than that, normal clothes is ok. Taxi here is running with meters. When you arrive at the airport, just go outside the airport and there will be buses waiting for hotel customers and taxis queing. Just grab a taxi and you will be charged MOP 11 when you board the taxi. Additional luggage will cost you MOP 3 per baggage. From airport to town, will cost you from MOP 60 till 80 depending where you stay. There is a not much of budget hotels anymore in Macau, but you can still find some. For normal 3 star hotels cost you from MOP 400 ++ till MOP 800 ++ a day depending on day. Normal Sunday is cheaper and the price will be escalating till Thursday. From Friday onwards, it's steeper price and then on Saturday will be sky high of up to MOP 1400. So come on weekdays ok.... Buses taking you around will cost you MOP 2.50 per trip. Out of Macau to Coloane or Hak Sa / Taipa will cost from MOP 3.3 till MOP 5. So it's quite cheap considering that Malaysian currency is around half of MOP as same like HK currency. Meaning MOP 100 is around RM 95. Just hop on a bus depending on where you want to go and remember to ask people for directions on bus boarding. They understand Cantonese and Mandarin. So it's ok for Malaysians. Excess money that you put into the fare box will render it void. So remember for small change. HK money is acceptable everywhere as well. Better come here prepared with HK money as it's easier. There is a lot of good eatries over here. But be prepared for some changes. Coffee is without sugar or milk but will be served in another container. How you want your coffee taste, you just pour in your own sugar and milk. It's quite cheap for people eating here but not for Malaysians. Just a packet of nasi bungkus will cost you easily MOP 18 to 25. And it's salty as well as normally all Chinese from China is acustomed to salty food. Better food cost easily from MOP 24 till 70 per meal per person. Depending on what you order. Hotel food is of course more expensive. Just look for eatries. Mostly chinese restaurant. Good western restaurant is available everywhere including Indian, Korean, Italian and more. These will cost more from MOP 100 or more perperson. Steamboat buffet cheapest is MOP 50 ++ per person and available in Taipa. Good restaurant as well. Places nice to visit. Casinos such as Sands, Wynn, Starworld Galaxy. Just visit this few casinos, others just don't bother as they are peanut size. Visit Lisboa Hall of Shame for some girl beauty sightseeing. Price starts from MOP 800 till MOP 1200. (You know what I mean??? Other visits is such as Ruins of St Paul, etc etc. I don't visit much of these stuff. Boring..... But for good night sight, go to Fisherman's Wharf at night armed with your cameras. Good place for pictures. Other places is also ok. Night life. Bex Cafe, Paradise Karaoke, MP3, and much more. The only disco in Macau is DD Disco. Located just 1 block from Lisboa Casino. Don't go there around 10. No use. Go there around 3 am and start partying till 7 in the morning. It's start heating up only around 2 in the morning. Teenagers over here don't sleep very early. Culture around here. 2 sided, comes with a side for you to Chill to R & B and hip hop. Trance and hard partying is in another side. You can just walk both sided. Just pay entrance fee of MOP 100 to 150 depending on day. A lot of places for buiscuit and good eating stuff. Macau most famous is near Hak Sa. Selling portuguse egg tart starting from MOP 6 per piece. Yeah.. It's damn expensive. Just 2 will fill you up as it's loaded with butter and it's flaky as well. But it's good and fresh. Oven finished and it's snapped up within minutes as customers line up to buy them. Anymore??? Well discover Macau yourself. ** Writer currently working in Macau for the moment and travels mostly on car and walks around. Knows a lot of places but don't know what to tell as I always forgets the name. Bad memory. Anymore requirements please give me a PM. Will try to help as best as I could. But don't ask me to book hotel for you. |

well, i been to Vietnam Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. Been to Philippines, Australia, Macau and Cambodia. Next time I will be relocated to Cambodia for good, but will be covering SEA for work. Will travel around a bit. And to tell guys seriusly, HK Airport is on my best list. Even Singapore is not that good as HKIA. Very good and prompt service in the airport. Singapore airport is small. Australia airport is also not good. Very outdated. Need to reconstruct a new airport. Cambodia airport is ok comparable. Vietnam airport at Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi is also good. Philippines airport, not so good, please be there at least 3 hours before flight as you might have to directly board the airplane if you are there 2 hours before flight.
