Depends on what U like...I loved wandering the small lanes away from the main tourists streets...found many wonderful food , just follow where the locals go.
Taxi to the airport wasnt as expensive as I expected ..paid like RM27 from city centre. if you have time, take the AP1 local bus...think it only cost like RM 3.

I saved lots of money..either walking and checking sites along the way or take the free shutter provided by lots of casinos..treat the ferry terminal as a transit hub and get on the next free shuitter to another destination!!

Frankly, i don't enjoy portuguese Cuisine, except the egg tarts...

Take a trip down to Hong Kong and don't waste too much time in Macau if gambling is not your deal! smile.gif

Managed to book AA flight to Macau this coming Dec'08 (RM59.99 ticket thumbup.gif ). Well it will be my 2nd trip to HK & Macau. The last trip was in 1995 where I took 1 hr ferry ride from HK to Macau for a day tour. This time round it will be the other way round biggrin.gif ..Really hv fond memory especially I can actually see they build Macau airport from the ferry & now I'm going to land on the airport biggrin.gif + Taipa is just a small island with scatter houses & not link to Coloane island..I believe right now both island are joined wth the Largest single casono in the world.."Venetian" hmm.gif

However in order to get cheap ticket + hotels, I decided to choose Fortune Hotel in Zhuhai China instead of Macau & HK.(Very expensive)....So far there is no info on which bus/price + taxi going to Zhuhai/Macau border. Appreciate anyone here hv some info on busses & taxi going to border.

My itinery probably include day trip to HK & also another day trip to Canton... biggrin.gif ..+ 1/2 day rounding the small crowded Macau + shopping at Gonbei underground shopping at the Zhuhai border. More comment or input appreciated.. only 4D3N blush.gif ..Can't afford expensive lifestyle here.. blush.gif

No NOT truth ,,, !!! casino hotel NOT only for gambling .....

if you are into new "era" of entertaiment ... all casino ( new ) in macau has some sort of "show" in their hotel ...
(lobbly area )

its free .. but you need to be there ON Time ...

I only managed to enjoy 2 shows in 2 night outing ... ( 2 different hotel ...)

Zhuhai is the nearest Chinese City on the Northern border of Macau..and btw, the border from Centre of Macau is only 3KM away (or ~10km from airport). biggrin.gif The hotel rate at Zhuhai is much cheaper than Macau & the one I booked is just opposite Gonbei gate (Border gate) u can actually walk to Macau from Zhuhai! if u are strong-lah..but I think for me need a transport from Airport to Zhuhai.

From Zhuhai, it is just about 1hr to Canton (New name =Guangxhou)...And Guanzhou is the 3rd largets city in China wth metro population more than Hong Kong! - You can try Goocle Earth to check where is Canton biggrin.gif

Hope some feedback on the taxi or bus rate to Zhuhai...BTW..be carefull wth the taxi drivers at Macau! I was conned badly during my 1995 trip....Brought me to a medical hall for foreigner & at the end I was forced to buy >RM1500 worth of medicine although I order ~RM300 only..the taxi guy probably pakat wth the owner!! mad.gif vmad.gif ..This kind of stories were frequent during the 90' & even featured in "Kisah Benar" b4!! mad.gif

Hope this is not too late. I discovered a way to get free transport.

Hope onto the many free shuttle bus services offered by the casinos. if you are coming from the aiport, take a public bus from the airport to the ferry terminal. Many buses go that way.But if you have like few person, make sense to take cab..cost almost the same after pay fare + each piece of bag have to pay extra when u get on the bus.

From the ferry terminal, just get onto any of the shuttle that goes into the casino...easier choose one of the bigger ones that's near by eg Wynner(spelling?) . Then when u get off at the casino, u get onto the buses that send ppl off to the ferry terminal as well as the zhuhai bus terminal. Check with bus driver which way it's going. I didnt check and assumed all pergi ferry terminal and ended up in Zhuahai by accident!!!
