Still I will wait for the freebies (Camera Grip) bundled offer instead of getting it at initial launch.

QUOTE(didid009 @ Sep 9 2013, 08:58 PM) the release date in malaysia is all state or certain state only ?? Obviously certain states will have earlier access to the stocks and being allocated with more stocks through official channel. But if you are talking about the AP set, then it is hard to say so. price in kl and penang got different?? RRP wise is the same nationwide bro. Just that some stores may have different promotional package. |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Sep 9 2013, 09:11 PM) Wow, finally a comparison website. Lumia device tend to have white balance issue, I dunno why is that so. But luckily that white balance can be tweaked with the preset 4 options. They said it has something to do with the OIS or somesort, but I just simply don't understand. Maybe there is someone care to clarify? The 1020 seems to capture more details and is sharper, but seems like suffering from wb problem. |

what Lumia are you using? Anyway, anyone will do. When you are using the default camera apps, you can do further adjustment via the setting button (the 3 dots there), that's where you can adjust the white balance that the app provide with preset 4 adjustments such as daylight, fluorescent, etc (couldn't remember the name).
One tips that Adam Lein from Pocketnow suggest is that you get a white card and adjust your camera accordingly to the above mentioned 4 white balance adjustment to get the accurate white color on the white card and there you will get the accurate color of photo shooting. |

QUOTE(Fhaarkas @ Sep 9 2013, 11:49 PM) What a crap "comparison". Sure set everything to Auto and snap away to judge which camera has the better optic. It should be called firmware comparison instead lol. yeah, for some reason, Sony Xperia team really should borrow some technicians from the Sony Alpha Camera team. The camera on the Xperia just sucks whole time, even the other competitors who use the same camera module from Sony can tweak the photo result better. I love Sony products, but when it comes to Xperia Camera, I just can only shake head.DPreview Connect is going to review Z1's camera in a few days time. In the meanwhile, let's bask in the glory of L1020. http://connect.dpreview.com/post/523489204...0-camera-review I just use Cloudy for everything lol. |

QUOTE(weileong @ Sep 12 2013, 10:28 PM) Impossible. Will be at least RM 2299.00But then, unless they bundled with extra free gift like camera grip or wireless charging car holder, I will hold until Christmas cos by then there should be little price adjustment or extra bundled stuff for the Christmas event while waiting to see the news for upcoming Lumia with next gen chasis. As of now, as much as I love L1020, L920 still serve me wonderfully This post has been edited by arbelnox: Sep 13 2013, 08:18 AM |

By the way, just asking, is Malaysia releasing both 32G and 64G variants? Cos some Europe countries are getting the 64G variant coming end of this month or early next month

QUOTE(weirdguy @ Sep 13 2013, 09:20 AM) If RM2,299 and bundled with Camera Grip, Sadly that's usually the case in Malaysia. Only KL gets all the good deals. That's what happened back in 920 with monster headsets freebies or wireless charger... can't remember.. while us just can only head banging the wall for couldn't be there.I still feel worth it. I do hope this Bundle Offer not just available during that day event. It is so unfair to all other Malaysia Nokian who could not attend or/and do not wish to queue to take up the offer during the Event. |

QUOTE(ikram_p @ Sep 14 2013, 12:59 PM) what we know so far for price war, that note 3, sony Z1, iphone 5s and lumia 1020 possible will be around rm2200-rm2500. As for note 3 price is confirm at rm2288 with a lot of freebies. Sadly our Telco isn't keen in pushing the Windows Phone so NO, you won't see freebies from the Telco. So, as the price is above 2k, i expect some freebies will be thrown out from nokia and telco itself to compete with android and apple fan base that are definitely strong in this region. it is possible, like any other electronic consumer products, we might see a price change near the Christmas holiday As for Nokia, yes there is a fair chance for them to release with freebies, but limited places in KL. Other states, you guys should wake up from daydreaming already. |

QUOTE(s7ran9er @ Sep 19 2013, 09:30 AM) Oh, if that's the case. Get both lah. Nah, I'm just saying that IF I am getting an Android Phone over this beastly Lumia 1020, I would rather get Sony Z1 instead of Galaxy Note 3 that everyone is comparing in this thread. Remember, this is a camera phone, ask yourself if you truly enjoy shooting photos or it might be better if photography is one of your hobby or professional work. GN3, that big ass screen size phone is a smart phablet, it works for everyone and it is highly customizable. Day 1 price with hyped smartphones really hit above RM2k mark mah unless you can wait. Still, big ass screen GN3 is not my taste cos most of its features are just gimmicky to me. While Lumia 1020, though low specs (in current gen), has all the fundamental and actually working stuff, and that 41MP, is not GIMMICK, it is Real working tech. |

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Sep 19 2013, 11:28 AM) i might skip this product Just asking, will QuadCore solve this time-consuming process problem? because same processor need to process such high pixel data a bit delay(show at video) i am waiting quad core with 41MP I thought a dedicated graphic chip will play the role more vitally, no? |

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Sep 19 2013, 11:43 AM) yup..windows 8 cannot support full hd screen n quad core ...need to wait until 8.1 I thought GDR3 can support already? Cos Nokia rumored Bandit is supposedly running GDR 3 but with next gen chasis already right? hopefully we can see better phone in next year Anyway, I will wait till Christmas bundling offer for L1020. Past experience taught me first batch isn't always the best. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Sep 20 2013, 08:05 AM) That's the beauty of Windows Phone. All phones will get updates, but you still can be screwed up by carriers if they don't want to release the updates. Thankfully that Malaysia phones are not tied to carriers so we won't get screwed. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2013, 08:37 AM) Well, they DID release an update for WP 7 up to 7.8 no? And if you are asking why WP 7 is not given update to WP 8, then please read xSean's post to get clearer explanation. So I guess it is fine to get screwed by Android but not Windows Phone? I don't get it bro. |

QUOTE(David900924 @ Sep 20 2013, 09:29 AM) same statement, when windows phone with dual core release on the market with 8.0, all current windows phone with 1 core not able to update to 8.0. Bro, that's how the technology advance. Eventually MS will have to forfeit some updates to windows phone dual core, else they will provide only partial updates to Windows Phone just like how iOS do, or just leave the phone died just like how Android do. So when 1520 release with quad core, i afraid next windows update will be for quadcore only, leaving the dual core wp die like the past of lumia first series. But so far, MS (or NOKIA to be more precise) will still provide updates to all its phones unlike other OEM who practices selective updates only. |
