erm 3200 > 1600 > 800 > 400 > 200 > 100.

shutter speed would go from 2500 > 1250 > 600 > 300 > 150 > 75

smile.gif might be a problem handheld at ISO 100.

ISO 400 - 800 would suffice.

He's using the 70-200 F4 IS, so at 1/75, it's quite easy to handheld imo, unless he has shaky hands.

why settle for ISO 100 at 1/75 when you can do ISO 400 at 1/300 with no difference in image? might as well go for the faster shutter speed.

btw he's using IS pointing upwards. smile.gif how effective is IS pointing upwards, I also donno.
*
Huh? Isn't IS works by detecting the direction of shake? Not the direction of camera?

i also donno. i'm not technical, neither do i shoot upwards often enought with IS lens to know about it. biggrin.gif
*
Last time I read somewhere that IS only detects vertical and horizontal camera shake, not sure if there are more directions, since Olympus's Stabilization has 5 axis.

So the pointing direction of camera doesn't really affect the working of IS imo.

I can't tell the difference between 1.2L at 1.4 and sigma 50 f/1.4 at 1.4.
Provided both at tack sharp focus.
*
Why not consider the 50mm f1.4 Canon?

Canon f/1.4 confirm softer than sigma or the 1.2 at f/1.4.
Noticeable difference? Yes.
Does it matter ? Not really unless you pixel peep.
*
hmm... so it's actually not worth to get the 50mm f1.4 if someone is asking for the best sharpness at f1.4?

Canon 50mm f/1.4 - very good lens, just being soft wide open. if you're like me who shoots f/4 and narrower most of the time then no problem with it.
*
But it's priced that high because of the fast aperture. I will go for the 40mm if I am not shooting wide open.

if i don't have a 50mm f1.4, i would go for 40mm f2.8 STM as well.

edited : come to think of it - I still intend to get a 40mm f2.8 stm.
*
haha yep nod.gif since the 1.4 isn't that much better than the 1.8, why not get the 1.8 if u wan to get the lowlight and get the 40mm too for the sharpness and portability.

ouhhh that one cannot compare.

f/1.8 II is totally no comparison to the f/1.4

the f/1.8 II is so plastic, it hunts and it does not have USM for FTM purpose.
*
but if talk about IQ, I read some reviews before, they all say not so big difference when wide open, both also quite soft.

buy lens is not all about IQ mah. correct IQ not much difference. I have both too. You step down whatever can't tell them apart BUT the difference comes when using it. 50mm f1.8 II i vomit blood using tongue.gif haven't use it for a long time. Sitting in dry box as backup only.
*
haha i know a lot of people complained about it. but i poorfag ma tongue.gif still i used the 50mm to create a lot of amazing images XD instead of saving money for buying better gears, why not utilize what you have to the maximum

for hobbyists, I find 50mm f1.8 II enough. No need to go for f/1.4 unless you really have a lot of money.

for the price you pay it's actually worth it la, have to live with the occasional hiccups but it's not that bad.

however I saw some people use the 50mm f1.8 II on 5D Mark II / 1D-X ...... really AIYOH case.
*
use on 5D still abit... ekhem. but use on 1DX really rclxub.gif shocking.gif doh.gif sweat.gif shakehead.gif

My bad. I've really bad experiences with the nifty fifty which served me well until it gave me non focusing moments in lesser lights (read lesser and not low) and breaking in two parts on small drops. (I managed to put it back together thanks to Youtube) which ended up as a gift to a buyer who bought my 60D. But all in all, if you pay RM250 for the lens, better learn not to complain. It's a real performer for the price (that's if you have no other friends who have better 50mm lenses than you). smile.gif
*
hmm.. thinking to sell off my 50mm and get the 40mm instead. but since it's going to be a jump from f1.8 to f2.8, i am worrying about bumping higher ISO, since I shoot in low light quite frequently.

i was referring to my friends / contacts la.

the complaint was slow, I'm sure they were using center AF point too.

it really depends on individual.

to me - they all feel the same, no kidding. even if you use 1D vs 650D - the speed difference is like mili-seconds.

even I'm baffled why they say 5D2 is slow and 7D is fast. Like i mentioned earlier, I would've have not felt the difference. half-press - focus. good. tongue.gif
*
Focusing using central point with a good light on a high contrast subject doesn't differ much from every camera imo, it's the lens that plays the difference. For example I used my friend's 7D and 60D comparing with my 550D using the same 18-135mm, I can't really notice the difference in terms of speed and accuracy.

I use so from entry level to 1D also I don't feel the AF speed difference la.
some people say 60D slow. I use also no problem.

some people say 5D2 slow like 550D ......... but I use 550D also no problem. didn't find it slow either.

like I said earlier, different people will perceive it differently.

the AF speed difference to me is too minute to make any difference. Even my super dinosaur 350D AF is faster than my eye + brain + finger coordination. smile.gif
*
if the lighting condition is good enough, then they will perform equally, but when the lights gets worse/ subjects moving face, then the difference will be more obvious imo.
