Brake cable as in brake hose?
*
Err..brake cable and brake hoses perform different functions, though they are in the same system (vehicle brake system).
Also, I believe modern cars doesn't utilize brake cables anymore hmm.gif

EDIT: LOLs, my reply above doesn't apply anymore coz u beat me to it.

QUOTE(tvg_rene @ Jul 2 2013, 11:50 AM)
I suppose, something along those lines. I'm no car expert  tongue.gif

Care to elaborate in further detail?
Like brake pedal feel (during and before engaging Reverse)?
Abnormal sound, etc.?

EDIT: It should be ABS or Electronic sensor problem.

Ya. A CD2 cost 320 each, a MC5 cost 320. A PS3, Assy2, T1 Sport cost 440 each.

So 320 x 4 = 1280
Trade in = 400
Balance 880

440 x 4 = 1760
Trade in = 400
Balance = 1360

The feeling of less than 900 makes me feel that I can take the money out easier. 1.4k looks like alot of money. So this one is dilema also.

Bro, try reading up on ACHILLES Tyres.
I must be honest and admit that I've not used them before, but based on reviews (online and from my friend whom drives a 328 with it), it seems to be the most impresseve tyre for its price range.

Here's the company's Malaysian webpage for your convenience:
http://www.achillesradial.com/en/tires

PS - Pls don't shoot me if the availability of these tyres are limited due to the lack of popularity (maybe not because they aren't good, but yet to be famous).

I'm experiencing a muted but distinct sound during medium acceleration from standstill.
I don't think/hope it is not coming from the engine. I'll need to investigate further.

Bro Dvinez, you meant that we (FORTE owners of certain year batches) can request for a change of the AIR-COND Compressor even it is working well (except for some suspected noise)?

Please icon_question.gif
If what you are saying is true, I'll want to get a new compressor too coz I heard a few other FORTE owners were experiencing faulty compressors after 2yrs of ownership sad.gif

Anyone know how much liter for our radiator + reserve tank ?
Wanna replace myself...
Maybe will use toyota long life coolant...
I heard should use battery water instead of mineral water, is it ?
*
QUOTE(SoulReaver @ Jul 8 2013, 06:34 PM)
Not sure thou, but for what type of water into radiator. I personally would suggest distilled water if you wAnna go all out. But filtered tap water would be just fine as coolant have rust inhibitors.

Oh no!
My Forte is now plagued by the 'Helicopter' sound syndrome.

Situation where the helicopter sound occurs:

1) During acceleration of the vehicle (at low RPM range: between 1K to 2.5K RPM mark)

2) Accelarating/Revving the engine whilst stationary (gear shift in Neutral mode) at the same RPM range.

NOTE - I've tried revving/accelerating with both the Air-Cond turned on & off. As such, I'm not entirely convinced that this is an Air-Cond Compressor issue sad.gif

My conclusion:
It shouldn't be the stabilizer link as te helicopter sound can be heard even during stationary throttle revs.
However, I've yet to be able to pinpoint the exact cause of the sound/noise.

Anybody has any other opinions? icon_question.gif

Then I will be bringing boiled filtered water for them? Or they will use battery water?
*
Most, if not all SCs/Mechs will use regular tap water (some filtered, but most unfiltered) to fill up your radiator.
There's nothing wrong with that.

However, for fussy types like us (myself included), we prefer filtered or better yet boiled-filtered water. This should help (somewhat) prolong the vehicle's engine cooling system.

I'd suggest never to use distilled water as it is oxygen hungry(?), hence the water may actively attract oxygen molecules. I could be wrong here. Pls do some science research online and educate me here as well. I'd do the research some other day myself coz am a lil preoccupied at the moment smile.gif

You know when we go do allignment for the front tyres, they measures the chamber value and toe to toe value? My rear's off value if worse than the front. Front can be fixed but the tyre shop I went can't do anything for the rear.

My rear's chamber value was like 1.1 off for left and 4 plus for right. Toe to toe was like 2 plus for left, 1 plus for right. So it is quite serious.

Any one checked the condition of ur rear? I bet not many of us did because allignment cant be done for the back, hence not bothering to check.
*
Need help correcting your vehicle's rear alignment? Try Ah Kit Alignment @ Sunway PJS (a.k.a. Jalan Horsepower).

The shop has the equipment.
If you need me to bring you to intro, just Whatsapp me.
But be forewarned that their price is not cheap (Sunway punya price rates).

Pls elaborate on the disk formatting (i.e. - NTFS, FAT, FAT32, exFAT) which you've chosen and how your file storage system works (i.e.- file folder/directory levels).

hmm.. mine can go only about 310km before fuel blink, fill petrol not full, about RM80, 100% city drive, below 100km/h, rpm below 3k, about 13-14litre/100km, definitely not normal right?

Wow... heavy traffic?

Mine RM50 can go within 280KM - 310KM mine mostly in highways and some city drive tho..

Hmm my fuel indi does not blink tho... just stays on  blink.gif

I'm not sure if what I'm saying is gonna be relevant, but pls also take into account the time you idle your car whilst waiting for your wife/gf/family/etc.

Idling your engine does contribute towards a high FC reading as well smile.gif

just got my bright silver 2.0 today!. yay.... thanks to 070.

found 3 issues

1. dashboard rattling.
2. gush of water came out from passenger feet
3. aircond intermittent blows at manual mode. (espcially when car slows down aircond will blow slower)

any folks have this issues before?
*
Your issues & my feedback:

1) Pretty common problem.

2) Have never heard of any other Forte owner encountering the same. I suspect the cause to be a disconnected Air-Conditioner system hose.

3) Check to see if your Air-Conditioner fan motor is workin properly. A faulty air-cond thermostat could also be the problem.

Good luck!

went to leo auto at old klang road today

it was the air conditioning hose which suppose to pour out was left in the car which left the car inside filled with water.

water ia drained.  and should be left to dry in sun with the doors opened was the final part. affected the air conditioning cooling coil too. so monitor a few days before making another appointment.

went to kota kemuning and changed my tyres today. to yoko cdrive.215 50 17. ride comfort much better now. and odo is corrected. previously,  on 45 profile its 10kmh shown slower on meter. now its 2-3kmh different.

im enjoying my ride. next stop is tinting. any recommendations?
*
Good to hear that you've sorted most of the problems thumbup.gif

Now, whilst I'm not entirely sure if it'll help, a friend of mine had the same issue before (disconnected condenser hose in the car cabin) and he used Thirsty Hippo + Baking soda (in a muslin sachet) to dehydrate the car cabin.

Your YOKO C-Drive 215/50/R17..how much and which shop exactly?

add 4 pieces price expensive already, add somemore can change spring terus?
but better ask sc to check first, nothing to lose. it is free.

Bro Dvinez, are u from Muar?

QUOTE(lingleeyen @ Jul 29 2013, 12:44 PM)
What I read is that the reduce the compression of the spring, and thus reducing the work of absorber. I do not know which one is correct.
*
You are right. Spring buffers retards the motion of the springs and significantly reduces the load on absorbers.

My take on the switch to BLM springs, etc.:
Try doing some research first on the kerb weight of each vehicle before swapping the springs.
Also, check to see if once you've switched the springs, will your Forte 'nose-dive' everytime you hit the brakes?
There are reasons why the Forte (or any other vehicle for that matter)'s suspension system is set up in such a way.

PS - Just my thoughts through my own experience hmm.gif
