for the LTE version, if we get from newegg we'll get the US version or EU version? it's going to matter since we can only use 1800mhz band on US while EU has 1800mhz & 2600mhz...

Why don't you ask newegg directly?? Has he quoted to you n from the price you would know. Europe is more expensive by about rm400
Garage sales quoted me 1.2k for USA n 1.6k for europe

awaiting reply now...

wow... RM 400 for an additional band is... shocking.gif

i think i have some news:

source

US LTE 32gb = 349USD = around RM 1.2k
EU LTE 32gb = 349 Euro = aorund RM 1.6k
Japan LTE 32gb = at most 40000yen = around RM 1.4k

Get a broadband to tether or tether to your phone?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 29 2013, 01:58 PM)
Actually a LTE MiFi costs around RM 450. I'm not sure if I should get a non-LTE model and tether using LTE MiFi. hmm.gif
*
same here, thought of getting a Mifi but then that's another thing to carry and charge...
not to mention those aren't exactly cheap...

Garage sales those sellers making only about rm100 per unit. Fair price I would say. Even you import in yourself you save most rm50 provided you don't need to pay rm100 for sirim permit
*
thanks, will check there icon_rolleyes.gif
any seller that you would recommend?

no, random reboot is not app problem. its confirmed the tablet problem (highly probable a hardware issue, not firmware issue). even with absolute no app installed, the problem still occur.

really sorry to hear about the problems you faced before
from what I heard, the new nexus 7's hardware are all quite resilliant and perform amazingly, whereas the tegra3 used by the previous nexus needs a lot of work done on it before it can run smooth
so, i think it's better to not judge the new nexus based on the previous' experience smile.gif

i did.
then tried customize summore on the advance tab. then everything go haywire  sweat.gif
apps become small, launcher become big,  menu too big.
then decide to flash paranoidAndroid  biggrin.gif

i wanna try carbom but its 4.2.2 based  hmm.gif
*
don't go advance settings to customize
lauch the app then only go to quick settings there got the hybrid engine toggle
click on it and you can select the dpi and/or 360p/600p/720p option
360p is phone ui, 600 is phablet, 720p is tablet
select those 3 first, then only adjust dpi to your need

i'm using around 180dpi 360p for most apps on my galaxy S smile.gif

noted for next time  biggrin.gif
dpi should choose what eh?  hmm.gif
*
play around with it, different apps have different content, adjust according to your needs
smaller dpi = smaller txt & icons, fit more content on screen
bigger dpi = bigger txt & icons, fit less content on screen

I was kinda surprised at the battery life between both N7 2012 and N7 2013...  blink.gif
*
duh...
the new N7 max brightness is around 550~600 nits, which is very d*mn bright... and we all know that a display sucks the most power...
and they said so themselves
"Moreover, as noted earlier in the review, the Nexus 7 (2013) has a brighter display which could result to an increased drain on the battery."

i'd look to anandtech for battery reviews as theirs is most consistent IMO

Looks like the downside is the battery. U guys can get 7 hr SOT?.  smile.gif

hardwarezone measures with max brightness...
if you don't set it at such a crazy setting...

here you can see it compared to ipad mini & ipad4
http://anandtech.com/show/7231/the-nexus-7-2013-review/2

users at xda reported around 8 hours or longer SOT...

to be more specific i am not sure if s4 pro can withstand upgrade
just like nexus 7 with tegra 3. i ran smoothly on 4.1
subsquent update is just  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
it's due to memory problem, read Anandtech.com's review of Nexus 7 to understand what changed in android 4.3

also, my galaxy s running paranoid andoid 3.99 (android 4.3) smile.gif

in short, you don't have to worry

that 3G model, any how to make it capable for phone function?

AFAIK, impossible as it likely require hardware level changes

TS needs to clear this up in the first post, too many people have been asking about this

or the upcoming note 10
or some china models
samsung tablets generally have calls and sms (since they put everthing including the kitchen sink into their products)

nobody tried to back up apps to google account and then factory reset after latest update to see if that fixes the touchscreen problem?
factory reset shouldn't affect our data like music and videos so i don't see it as a big problem...
