Hi, I was the first who introduced DragonNest and release CBT keys. I didn't post AvatarStar during CBT this time because it's hard to give away Keys here, so now AvatarStar OBT, it's open to all!

CherryCredits licensed and signed to be the first to launch AvatarStar in the World. Other than WASD, space jump and point-click to shot, this game brings back some of the most epic controls such as rabbit hop and rocket jump. Wings added to prevent drop injury. 3 classes to choose from, with dota-style abilities. Assassin let's you invisible, Gunner allows you to tank with shield and Guardian needless to speak, team-healing. Many would start with Assassin, easy to kill, especially with knife action but most have now agreed that all class are balance and they are good in their own ways as long as you know how to use them. 3 modes to choose from and they are all equally fun. Best for FPS players who loves MOBA games such as Dota or HON.

The game now is in Open-beta. It's announced that Account will not be wiped. Cash shop is now open. But got money also limited because this game need skill and need gold chest to open. Trading house will only be available next patch. If you have a dragon nest account or cherry account, simple sign-in with the same ID and password (or email & password).

Anyone tried this before?

i am playing this when i have spare time from planetside2.
i wont say that all 3 classes are balanced.
most of the match nowadays only consist of assassins and guardians.
if you're lucky maybe 1 or 2 gunners that know how to use it.

what i dont like is that how they poll all players in a match.
sometimes i need to fight players that are 10+ lvls higher than me who already have upgraded weapons.
in this game i usually got 1 hit killed.

As mentioned, many people will think that Assassin and guardian are the better class but late stage, with better understanding, many gunner are surfacing. In future, Gunner will be extremely important during team play due to it's group shield. In fact, many players are using few gunner to time their group shield. Also, an unspoken secret of Gunner is the trash+lid + spanner. It tank almost 50% of attack which made it the best class in DMN mode.

Yeay! Finally a thread about AS! This game is still lack of players especially from Malaysia. Most of players came from Dragon Nest and currently PH and INA is flooding the server.

Haha, thanks for posting here. A game with players to play with is better than none. I think PH plays well too and at least we can experience how well they play.

I used to play RO2 from PlayPark before until they spoil the game with crashes and bug. It's sad that after waiting for about 10 years, this game was almost dead and it is still in OBT phase.
After I play AvatarStar, I stopped playing RO2 NA as well

Early level gameplay... an skilled assassin can pretty much solo lol..

played this since 1st day of OBT.. for fun only. my reflex not that good for FPS games haha

kinda weird when somebody 1 shot me.. but then i am only level 5, the dude is 20 haha

Its is TPS (Third Person Shooting), you can take advantage to surprise an enemy by hiding behind the wall xD

What class did you played? Maybe you need to learn about the skills.

This game still lacks of players but it is pretty easy to level up. Even if you lose, you still get a bunch of EXP.
Just keep on playing, you will experience the addiction soon

but still, the fact that the pool together very low level player with higher level are not good IMO. the enchant level, weapon level everything is so high. 2 shots is all it takes to kill me at level 5 by a level 20 player

Actually, the game is pretty balanced. The problem is lack of players. Are you going to wait for 10 minutes to play a game just to make sure all players are on equal level?
I'd rather fight those highbies and sharpen my skills rather than waste my time waiting.

i dont think its because of lack of players.
for example at the start of the game all players level are almost equal. Then when the game progress and there's player that leave the game we get high level players that will invade the game thus cause imbalance.
they should restrict this late comer's level when joining the game.

i've no problem fighting level 10 player when im just level 5 but when a level 25 player came with a +8 knife that can 1 slash me to death than thats a problem.

yes the game is fun and can be addicting, but this imbalance can cause frustration to the new players

yep. totally agree with the level restriction..

harnessing one skill is true but what can you do to prevent all those 1 hit kill attacks?

for me, i am not going to play this full time. was never meant for me. but i like the cheerful environment from the game. and my daughter like the BGM so much. so, will play when i am free.

They have been debating this issues at the CC forum. Some are saying that level restriction will be abused by fake newbies but I don't think it was a big deal since they won't be able to join up the lowbies after leveled up to certain point.

I just made a new char and observed that I frequently teamed up with other players with small level gap. Maybe when there are not enough player on that level, those highbies on the queue will join the lowbies.

at the start of the match yea you're teamed with players around your level, but check again after awhile and you can see that your teamates/enemies changed and there are couple of high level players slipped in.

I'm the high level player :3

Anyway, just keep on playing TDM because most of newbies don't know how to teamwork.
It also offers most EXP compared to KOTH and DMN. One more thing, this game doesn't sum up your
death and lose count, you could kamikaze for fun especially in KOTH.

There are many players in the game, more than most FPS out there, but the level issue happens because they auto-matched 3 game modes. So players are splited therefore there is a little shortage. Furthermore, they put 8 v 8 unlike other games that is only 5 v 5 or 6 v 6.

Totally agree that the game is casual and make life more cheerful haha... but funny thing is most players made their character the evil type haha.

I saw some nice Avatar, a Ryuk from Deathnote, iron man, ray man and many goofy! LOL

i think i fought that spiderman and rockman before this.
there's also venom in their team at that time.
most of them i think lv25+ but i still enjoy getting pawn in lv8 char seeing all this nice avatar.

I do, and always take the elite quest. Personally, I think elite is much easier and faster than normal and it give better rewards.

Totally agreed! Do you have other tips? I always click on the left hand top cards and the return is better than the center card I used to... haha.

Bored as in there's not much to do in the game. It was fun at first, other than that it's a standard death match game with some involvement of stats and some dynamic effect of how you spend $ in the game.

I didn't spend a dime in the game but I already usually end the game within the top 3 (death match mode). It's pretty repetitive in the end. There's not much to spend on with gold.

Once you hit Lv30, then it's the worst. Not much to do other than completing quests for medals, trying your luck to get more scrap materials by disassembling weapons...

So ya, I figure why don't I just go back and play an actual shooter game (CS) that requires more player skill.

It's how I view the game for now at this stage. I'm already bored within days, not sure how you guys keep up.

I think CS even more repetitive and less strategy. This game have classes and different mission. CS only 1. The only different is CS is competitive. That's because it's user made it competitive. But if you do play training and arrange teams to go in like CS, this game need more strategy than CS. I'm just waiting for the Guild mode to come and I believe there will be more $$ to win than playing CS.

It's not just about strategy or being repetitive or not. I'm talking about learning curve. Most MMOshooters out there are the dumb down version of CS. They're mostly F2P, and being F2P, they rely on microtransaction within the game to sustain. So they'll somehow put up overpowered weapons in the cashshop.

Since I've been an avid shooter gamer, the moment I play any MMOshooter, it's very easy for me. The recoil and guns mechanic is just simplified. The easiest damage mechanic of a shooter game is not even implemented. Where's headshot?!

Actually there are a lot of modes within CS.

Classic defuse mission, hostage, competitive, casual, deathmatch, arms race and a lot more created by the community.

I'm not sure how you gauge a game through the prize money lol but since you started it, counter strike 1.6 is usually $500,000 in an annual tournament's prize. And that's a 2003 game.

CSGO is usually $30,000-50,000 in some tournament. And most pros are switching to this version now.

Lastly, I'm not really bashing the game. If you read my reply properly, I'm only stating my opinion and point of view after a week of playing.

Gunner = King of the Hill and Domination
Guardian = King of the Hill and Domination

GameFr3ak, there wasn't any mentioned on learning curve in the previous post but if that's the case, I do see your point. The game aim to attract casual players so it's easy to point and shoot. Just image your girlfriend got headshot every time she walk towards the tower...

Therefore, this gameplay is not about managing recoil, it's about getting it more towards strategy. And I still think CS is more repetitive than AvatarStar in comparison.

Those CS prize money are they exclusively for SEA? Our conversation is on CS, so ignore CSGO since they are different game

Level 1 selfheal. Don't max this. Its rubbish.
Level 5 healing turret. Max this. Best Guardian defence skill. Try to fight inside your heal beacon AOE.
lv 5 archilles heel. Max this. Best Guardian offense skill.
lv 1 shockwave to push those assasins away.

Use the bow with the longest cooldown. 1.4 or 1.6 secs i can't remember.
Equipment loadout is Gun, Gun, Bow. Don't use Shotgun.
Slot defence gems only. Buy Defence rings if you want to spend RM10 cash top up.

Hold down your left mouse button to Fire your sub-machine gun, double tap "switch previous weapon" (default is Q), you will shoot out a bomb arrow while firing your machine gun. Wait for bomb arrow to cool down, then double tap "switch previous weapon" again.

Assassins and Tankers will rush to melee you. Let them eat a faceful of arrow showers.

Follow my guide, my young grasshopper, and you will be MVP every match.
