i find it really funny when people protest against mrt. in developed places like singapore, taiwan, china, people beg for mrt, even if its 15 mins away or pass in front of their window. malaysia still underdeveloped in both mental and physical.

Agree totally that nobody likes noisy environment, especially if when they bought their home, it was quiet: but such is the price of big city life.
HK, SG, TPE, almost the whole of europe's big capitals, they have rails going everywhere, even crossing roads. probably some of you have seen new york, chicago, osaka's crazy multilevel highways and subways. the alternative is live with the jam like bangkok, jakarta la.
KL is at a crossroads and we can go 3 ways by 2050:
1) Like the rest of the 1st world countries' capitals: rail, bus etc lines running everywhere, even in the lorong, through buildings etc, cutting through peoples life. crazy amount spent on public transport. No more privacy and peace but very well connected and convenient.
2) Do nothing. Jam up to 6 hours a day like bangkok, jakarta, beijing (which already has quite a good public transport system, just too many people). maybe our suicide rate n stress level can match korea and singapore at that time.
3) Ever expanding "Greater KL", one day probably includes seremban and tanjung malim, with crazy amount of resources spent on building new highways, but still the current average 2-3 hour jam, or maybe more since greater distance to travel from ever expanding "outskirts".
Have no illusions la, great "1st world" city means no more quiet landed neighbourhoods. even the "cultured n civilized" japanese in tokyo happily push people into the train everyday, its their normal everyday life liao. Want peace and quality of life: have to find it in sleepy towns and villages, not capital cities.

QUOTE(alovelyday2007 @ May 29 2015, 09:51 AM) Thanks Planc ! so Setia Sky looks like something very worthwhile for long term investment ... there's so much better located projects. this looks close to klcc but its totally unwalkable with nothing nearby. visited a friend who stayed a week there without a car and he was nearly bored to death. the dev still has units unsold. i wldnt touch this... unless poor man die die want stay klcc address with klcc congestion and noise and pollution but without klcc conveniences

QUOTE(Jagalat @ Oct 23 2015, 02:15 PM) Can also say MRT2 has "abandoned" entire Pandan to Cheras South. For the sake of a piece of land owned by certain troubled investment arm said to be for the sake of the nation but in reality, the personal wallet of a human frequently referred to by its nickname: "shit" in his local language.

QUOTE(chewlee @ Aug 11 2017, 11:20 AM) Maybe should build Monorail 2 before MRT 4 la, OKR property investor still waiting it why should property investors be given priority? public transport should be for the masses of low-mid end residential area to get to city hotspots. not for investors to justify their purchases
