Can try it at TMT (Thunder Match) lowyat.

I'm a fellow sim racer who race in VR too.

Apart from selling Oculus VR, I'm also official reseller of HTC Vive. I'm having a demo session for a couple of clients to try Oculus Rift S this Saturday evening at my shop in lowyat. Feel free to drop by if you interested to try as well.

Do I recommend HTC Vive? Well, feel free to PM me for my personal opinion (and more specifically how suitable it is for VR sim racing), I can also share with you a detailed comparison between the major VR headsets out there (I've tabulated it for easy comparison).

Hi, where is your shop name and location in lowyat ? interested in trying.

Received my HTC Cosmos yesterday. But why o why they didn't provide the mini displayport to displayport adepter? This really beyond me. My gaming laptop has 2 mini displayport but no display port. A warning to who want to invest on Cosmos, make sure your PC/laptop has a displayport cause the stupid adepter is very difficult to find.

Here is my comparison between my 1st gen. Vive and Cosmos.

New Fresnel lens is way better than Vive. Should help to reduce god rays tremendously.

Cable management is way way better on Cosmos vs the old Vive

How is the tracking with the cosmos?

The tracking is great under my room florescent lighting condition. Been playing Beat Saber, Arizona Sunshine, Vader Immortal Ep1 &2, Lone Echo non-stop with this headset. I have a lot of fun with it compare to bulky 1st gen Vive.
The image is very sharp, in fact it is the second sharpest on market for consumer base VR headset beside Pimax.
SDE is very minimal and god ray although is still there but it has been reduced to non-intrusive now.

Also due to better refresh rate, I can play longer with proper locomotion than using the teleport. The 1st gen is very headache inductive. I have no such issue with this new headset.

I can be a bit pricier but I have no regret buying this.
*
Did you tried like using the controller behind the other controller ?

Like let's say when in beat saber your left land need to go right and vice versa and there will be a point where both controller will be in one line causing the HMD will not see one controller.

I have an oversea friend where he play beat saber expert the tracking goes haywire when he swap hands. Straight away return it and stick back to his old Vive sad.gif

Which Hmd was he using. Some vr devices have the markers of the right and left hand identical. This mainly affects out to in trackings, like wmr, rift cv1 and psvr. They identify each controller based on the rotational position of each controller.
Rift S overcomes this by making sure the reference mark on the controllers (right and left) are different.
*
He's using Cosmos where the tracking suffers when one controller is blinded by the other controllers. Surprisingly he tried a Rift S but have no such issue with the same beat saber song with same room lightning.

Speaking of it, kinda envy of US people where they have more options for VR. Can choose between Oculus, HTC, Valve, WMRs'. Here we stuck with only HTC for official support and warranty rclxub.gif

Actually, Rift S suffered from the same issue during launch but they worked out the solution for this. All HMD with inside out tracking suffers from this occlusion problem because the camera cannot see the controller due to blocking. HTC has acknowledged this problem and working to resolve the issue with better AI and logic to predict the movement.
I have this problem in part of Arizona Sunshine where you use the sniper rifle to kill off zombies in the other side of the bridge.
I don't play a lot of archery or sniping game so it won't affect me so much. I have ton of fun with this HMD in Borderland 2VR now.

Ya, hope HTC can improve their cosmos tracking as time passes.

By chance lol.
If the person screening it does not know this hardware has wireless hardware, it will lepas kastam without any extra charge.
*
Hmm ok, worse case is just pay $$ extra right ? Kastam won't confiscate the product because the 60GHZ wireless doesn't comply with local laws, etc..

In terms of current VR HMD, I find the Oculus Rift S and Quest a lot better in terms of plug and play use. No hassle unlike HTC. Wasn't the case back during Oculus Rift vs Vive where I find Vive to be easier to use without much hassle.

Currently sitting out for next gen VR HMD. A bit late to own one myself, so I just borrow a friend's VR HMD when he doesn't use it. Still a long way to go in terms of good games on VR as well, hoping for dev jump ship and develop more quality VR games.

Ya Rift S and Quest is decent in plug and play.

Sadly Rift S have no IPD adjustment ..

This is just moving the screen image I think, not the actual lenses. Sadly it doesn't helped me even after I changed it to my IPD.

hmm i find tightening the hmd too tight would blur the image tho, but i wear glasses maybe thats just my problem
but i have better tracking on the oculus compared to the vive, maybe time for cosmos or index
*
Do you have a reflective surface when using the vive ? I used to have a glossy TV in the same room as the Vive and it causes some tracking issue. I put a blanket over the TV and it solves the tracking issue.

Cosmos (Elite) or Cosmos is using the same tracking system and most probably you will have the same issue as the vive tracking.

so mostly about mobile apps sizes, if that's the case, 64Gb definitely is more enough for me already thumbup.gif

Ya, to fill up 64GB of games is not cheap also haha.
