I already have the GearVR since launch. I will rushing to place my pre-order tonight. Hopefully my illegear RX-17 running a pair of GTX970M with 32GB RAM can handle the requirement adequately.

Yap, noted. I can borrow my brother in law's US address and have him ship it to me. However, I didn't put up my pre-order cause the shipping date is insane. They will only ship out the unit sometime in May. This is a joke. By then, SteamVR/Vive Pre is already out. I can make a better judgement by then.

For now, I will just wait.

If only they can ship it out faster. I don't mind the USD599 (without shipping and tax) price tag. Long delivery time is killing the fun.
What a disappointed launch they manage to conjure up.

I preordered 1 during first 10 mins, shipping date should be late March to early April.
Your shipping date shows May because you are slow!
First batch sold out in 14th minutes.

I am in UK, it costs 770 USD because vat and shipping.

I might cancel my pre-order because I will get a free 1.
Let me know if u want to take over my pre-order.
*
Thanks for the offer, bro. SteamVR/Vive Pre will be launch about the same time in April. I will wait at this point of time until both units are in the market then only I will decide which 1 to go with.

Hey guys, just received my HTC Vive Taiwan version yesterday. Need your confirmation that is the power adapters from Taiwan can be used in Malaysia directly?
I have tried charging both wands with no problem. Haven't try the Vive yet cause still looking for tripod to host the base station, LOL.

I bought my from Lazada. They handle everything including tax and shipping all in at RM4368.

Received mine a few days ago but still don't have time to set it up and test yet due to lacking of stand to host the base sad.gif. Fortunately able to received the 1450mm camera stands today. Hopefully have time to set it up and testing it in coming Sunday.

Nice. Didnt realize can buy from lazada now. How long it takes to deliver to you?
*
Actually the delivery is quit fast, around 10days. The item is shipped from HK. Just now tried out the Fruit Ninja, it's really good. Control are sharp and accurate to mm. Silky smooth with no lag at all. The setup is very simple, just plug and play with no hassle or detection/pairing issue.
So far I have bought 22 titles from Steam and only managed to try out Fruit ninja due to time constrain.
Will try out Revive to play Oculus game later. The good thing is without wearing my spectacle, I can see quit clear the image in VR. Didn't notice any so called god ray but do notice some artifact cause by the lens during start up. But once in the game, I couldn't observe any problem at all.
Overall, it is better than my Samsung GearVR. Very happy with the purchase.

ur playing on oculus or HTC vive? wonder if this compatible with vive though..
*
You can use Revive (they just updated to new version) to play Oculus Store game. Here is the game compatible with Revive https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/wiki/Compatibility-list
A few days ago, I logon to my Oculus Store and to my surprise that I am entitled to 2 free game, Luck's Tale (no idea when I purchased it if any) and Anshar War2 (bought long time ago for my GearVR) thumbup.gif
Now eyeing on Chronos and Edge of Nowhere but the price is a bit too steep. Will wait a little longer.
Good news is one of my favorite title is coming out this month in Vive, Eve Valkyrie thumbsup.gif

Some high profile games are coming up soon. DoomVR, FallOut4VR to say a few and Eve Valkyrie is coming this week or 2. So hold the horse.
Have you try Holo Impact Prologue yet? If you like old classic shoot-em-up game you should try this out. Crazy intense arcade action. It played likes one of the demo game Xortic 26XX in The Lab demo.
Also, I really enjoy the mindless shooting in Serious Sam VR. Lucky's Tale is also very fun game to play. 3D platform game with different perspective. Love the cute graphics as well. Will test out Edge of Nowhere and Chronos later.

I enjoy the device a lot.
Try enabling super sampling, this can really make the game looks sharper and clearer.

Same with you. Tested Brookhaven Experiment. The graphic was quite blurry and noticeable  blink.gif . Then I asked the PC spec, turned out it was GTX 960 SLI. I've never heard of any VR games that utilise SLI, so I assume the game only use one GTX 960 which is lower than GTX 970, the minimum, and the game only run at supersampling 1. Maybe your friend's GPU is lower than the minimum?

Try enabling super sampling and adjusting the IPD can also help on clarity.

Also, Eve Valkyrie has already been released yesterday night as well. Comes bundle with a free copy of Gunjack which I already have and too late to refund, damn.

And this made me more sad  cry.gif

You can try your luck in Amazon. They are having a black Friday Sales running Vive at only USD700.

Yeah, that was my original plan when HTC VIVE won't be arriving at Malaysia (as I expected). But 700 USD is still too much lol, especially when RM value dropped again recently.

Our currency perform so poorly, we are out of choice.

By the way, just tried out Doom BFG edition in VR using BRDOOMVR1.1.0. yesterday. The game plays out fantastically. Its way better than most of all the current title in my Steam Library. You all just have to try it yourself if you have Vive.

For those who bought Vive/Rift from outside, did you have to pay custom once it arrived in Malaysia? If so, how much?
*
Mine was handled by Lazada. Amazon will charged you in advance for like RM371.77 but will refund back to you later if excess.

I'm getting a used CV1 now for quite a cheap price from the US, not sure if I have to pay for custom since one of the point in their FAQ is that electronic device "might" be duty free. Let's see.
*
Anything above RM500 you definitely have to pay the tax. I bought Ninebot scooter, DJI Phantom 3A, limited edition games from amazon, LG V10 and etc from oversea, all have to pay tax. Worse is the one with wireless capability such as DJI Phantom 3. In that case, you have to apply for SIRIM cert. as well rclxub.gif

Being burned by PS Move once, I am skeptic and hesitate about the accuracy of camera base tracking solution now. Distance post a huge problem for camera base tracking solution due to limited FOV and fidelity. I am waiting for new Vive controller and the wireless adapter for HTC Vive. If you have played with roomscale before you will know how limited the Oculus roomscale is going to be.

Also lets not forget about 3 sensors and long usb cable to tether the camera back to PC. Nevertheless, the design is cool though.

PS Move was pretty good in my opinion.
You can't expect Magic accuracy with vision based technology.
*
They are too damn sensitive do distant and ambient light. I couldn't even get my Magic book and EyePet to work consistently and properly. Too sluggish and imprecise.

Already there are a lot of discussion on Touch control being drop off sharply once near the edge of permitted room scale. Also I am expecting to see more complaints on USB problem.

I will stick to SteamVR for this gen. due to better tracking solution and the incoming wireless solution.

Hey guys, Arizona SunShine has just updated to support new locomotion. Very very fun game. A must for all VR fans.

Side track a bit. Oculus seems like having a huge problem with multiple sensors with their room scale tracking.
http://uploadvr.com/oculus-sensors-setup/
My guess is multiple sensors sending duplicated data on the same IR dot causes system to miss-calculate the position. The most sensor you put in the more trouble the system facing due to prioritization and data sorting. Position calculated based on wrongly prioritized camera can miss lead the system to think the sensor being move and hence the jitter and sensor move error.
This is not going to be easily fixable especially system with 3 or 4 sensors cause you won't know which camera is going to give the best position information.

Received my HTC Cosmos yesterday. But why o why they didn't provide the mini displayport to displayport adepter? This really beyond me. My gaming laptop has 2 mini displayport but no display port. A warning to who want to invest on Cosmos, make sure your PC/laptop has a displayport cause the stupid adepter is very difficult to find.

Here is my comparison between my 1st gen. Vive and Cosmos.

New Fresnel lens is way better than Vive. Should help to reduce god rays tremendously.

Cable management is way way better on Cosmos vs the old Vive
