for those who bought or buying oculus rift DK2
you may want to consider this omni-direction "treadmill"

Omni ships from China IIRC. Virtualizer ships from Austria.

Both has it's pro and cons. IMHO neither one of them is better than the other. It really depends on what you want to use it for. I backed the Virtualizer instead of the Omni mainly because it doesn't require you to wear specialised shoes to use it.

Holding off now, get consumer instead.

If you can wait then better wait for the CV1, by that time GPU tech should've caught up to sustain 1440p@90fps.

guys...im planning to get a DK2 just for shitz & giggles (testing).
just a few questions:

1) How much are the taxes & how long does shipping take to reach here? I heard somewhere that they only release it in batches?hx
2) Does the eyepiece support someone wearing glasses (~3xx degree)
3) Is there a local community or fb group on the oculus rift in Malaysia?
*
1) Tax is 10%, shipping usually about a week from the date it ships. For Malaysia, they ship from Hong Kong
2) Depends on glasses. Some glasses can be too wide to fit inside. They give you 2 set of lenses. 1 is for near-sighted use.
3) Tis I not sure. I'm on the UK FB group. biggrin.gif

just for fun?

I used to develop with LeapMotion and Rift in Unity but that is for research purpose and I publish paper.

For fun and future application. Right now just R&D to see what works and what doesn't.

The beauty of VR gaming. You don't need a full simpit, only the necessary controls. biggrin.gif
