The Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to mirror the changes from the Galaxy S3 to the Galaxy S4, meaning it won’t have actually expanded in size from the Galaxy S3 Mini but will have a larger display crammed into the same space. At least that's the theory.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is rumoured to have a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a 950x540 pixel resolution at 256 pixels-per-inch (ppi), that’s bigger than the Galaxy S3 Mini’s 4-inch screen but leaked photos show the phone to be no taller at the same 120mm height and slightly narrower at around 55mm compared to the Galaxy S3 Mini’s 63mm.

As the screen is larger the bezel has also shrunk, just as it did on the Galaxy S4, but the rest of the design language remains much the same, which means rounded corners, a physical home key flanked by capacitive controls and a glossy plastic finish.

The most recently leaked benchmarks would suggest the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will run a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip clocked at 1.7GHz with an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit (GPU).

It’s expected to use Android 4.2.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI layer on top. While there is little detail regarding the Galaxy S4 Mini’s built-in features it’s expected it will share at least some functionality with the Galaxy S4 flagship.

Leaked photos of the interface suggest it will feature the Group Play music sharing capability which lets users link their phones to play the same track simultaneously – this can be used to setup ad-hoc stereo or surround sound playback using multiple phones.

Pictures indicate the phone has a front-facing camera and an icon seen on the notifications bar implies it will use this in a similar way to the Galaxy S4 with a range of eye and gesture tracking features.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is thought to be on track for an announcement towards the end of May and a release in May or June.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is much more than a paired down Galaxy S4. The specifications are seen as largely underwhelming within the technology community, which can't be said about the original Galaxy S4.

The Galaxy S4 release date is expected to occur in early July 2013.

If the price almost near s3, people would get s3 for the quad core rather than dual core .

But its 1.7ghz, dual core. While s3 was quad core 1.4ghz only.

If it come out, people would prefer that type cuz Samsung don't have much choice on waterproof and dust proof phones .

S4 mini will REALLY be my next phone.

Krait and Exynos are slightly different architectures. Krait is a little better in some things, so raw MHz doesn't tell you the whole picture.

It's a little hard to explain, coz architectural improvements can mean same MHz but very different performance.
