QUOTE(ugmonk @ May 14 2013, 12:35 AM) I would say that it is not that hard to cook by yourself and learn to cook in huge amount. Before this, I would cook porridge for 8 servings and store it in the fridge. Whenever I need to eat, I just reheat em. Same goes to my Spaghetti Meatball. |

QUOTE(anthony2211 @ May 25 2013, 12:55 PM) 1. I also find that whey protein is the cheapest source of protein. Well I agreed on most of these points but I do have something to add:- But we can't be depending solely on shakes for our protein source. 2. Canned tuna isnt exactly cheap. - 1 can Olive Oil Lite whether ayam brand or the w/e boi brand is like RM5.00 a can. 3. Multivites & EFA are great to supplement all the missing daily requirements. so no need to food hunt for the micronutrients. Only have to worry about the macros. 4. I find eggs the cheapest, easiest to down type of protein. 5. So, in conclusion, I am guessing this is the most budget friendly and sensible protein macro: a. Caseine b. Whey (or up it to isolate) c. Eggs (6-10 large per day) d. 1 to 2 meals with a piece of meat (cheapest will be chicken breast, followed by beef and fish) 6. To fulfill calories, I scream... i mean, Ice Cream. -- my 2 cents if I were to hit it at a constrained budget. I would think staying lean is easier than getting big while on a budget, but then again, I am blessed enough to never cross this path yet -- 1. You can get a can of Tuna for RM 2.65. The BlueBay Shredded Tuna sells for this price. Or NHK do sells 1.85KG tuna for RM 26. Olive Oil Tuna is surely not a cheap budget food 2. Caseine and Whey, eventhough it gives a good amount of protein, both combination + a multivits is considered too much for Uni student (that's what I faced during my uni years). 3. Eggs, this is the main ingredient for budget food. Hate it or Love it |

QUOTE(Kaffatsum @ Jun 25 2013, 07:36 PM) haha. pretty sure the eggs were on sale though The cheapest eggs that I can get is RM 4.29 for a dozen but those eggs come with 8.5g protein per egg where normal eggs are at 6g protein. |
