When ZR official start selling in Malaysia, a Xperia Z ap set will be cheaper than ZR's ori set already. -.- Now Xperia Z ap 1599 can get.

QUOTE(kysham @ Jul 8 2013, 09:47 AM) For some reason that I cannot explain, I don't like the Z. Maybe the shape or the size of it. It just doesn't float ma boat. But this ZR is nice. I don't think it is fair to compare the price of a fresh new product against the price of one that has already been on the market for a while now. This holds especially true for most, if not all, consumer electronics. Ya, to be honest, I don't quite like the Z too. The back is nice, coz it is glass finishing, but it is a fingerprint magnet too! Its a pain in the ass for me, u will wanna show off the back of Z, so u wont get a casing, but in the other hand it wil collect a lot of fingerprint smudges. And the Z feels....weird in the hand, I think ZR is just the perfect size. |

A bit disappointing with no LTE. Even the Xperia V with rrp of 1399 also got LTE. The money that we pay for ZR is for it's quad core + 2gb Ram + superb waterproof.

The price is worth it if u bring this phone along to beaches, swimming pools. It is waterproof plus 13 megapixel shooter. Let's not forget it is using Sony Bravia TV's opticontrast technology!

Hmmm....weird eh, Sony Malaysia website didn't state ZR got lte version, I think the set you got is AP set. But then dynamic distributor usually is for ori set.
well, cheapest LTE phone for Sony currently is Xperia V, and it's camera is better than SP too. If you are on a tight budget, can consider Xperia V ap set. 899 can get. This post has been edited by briantwj: Jul 10 2013, 06:55 AM |

QUOTE(AmeiN @ Jul 10 2013, 09:29 AM) What I like about Sony is that is has very good after sales support. Such as firmwares upgrade. My friend's Acro S and Xperia V is still getting Jelly Bean upgrade + firmwares from Sony fixing screen of dead issue (for Xperia V) and fixing picture quality. Kudos to Sony! |

QUOTE(kysham @ Jul 12 2013, 10:27 AM) Thanks for verifying. That means this website really is rubbish. Anyway, the shop still haven't got the ZR in stock yet, so I can't do a physical feel feel of the ZR. But I can say that the screen clarity of my Acro S is significantly (meaning, very obvious to the human eyes) better than the Z or the ZL. Z has the worst clarity. The ZL has better clarity, but it still cannot beat my Acro S. The Acro S has much deeper blacks and colors are more crisp. ZL is very close to it, but Z is far away. Funny thing is, the price range of these 3 phones goes the other way round! Still waiting for the shop to call me to say the ZR has arrived and awaiting my test drive. |

QUOTE(kysham @ Jul 12 2013, 03:59 PM) All screen setting on all 3 phones were set to MAXIMUM. Acro S still has the better contrast and deeper black. I am not aware of the firmware improving the contrast or blackness. I thought this is very much a hardware related characteristic, no? As far as i know, there is firmware that improves display quality. I've never compared Acro S with Z and Zl before. o.0 If I knew Acro S display is so good, I would have go for it instead of waiting for Zr. |

Guys, on paper the camera specs of ZR and Z seems to be the same. But is the camera hardware exactly the same with Z?
Just curious, if ZR's camera hardware and specs is exactly the same with Z..... |
