yup i truely agree... experience is nothing we can never put a price on it smile.gif

finally 1H14 ended, damn busy with the closing... finally can breathe edi... Tone, nice le labo  flex.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxm9.gif

last weekend was at kl for meeting and managed to squeeze a bit wee time to sniff the elusive hermessence line

Hermessence. Sense, essence, essential. The essence of Hermes and the very soul of perfume. A collection of olfactory poems, with sobriety and intensity, which freely explore new facets of emotion. Nature reinvented, unexpected and poetic. Unique and surprising associations of the most noble elements of perfumery.

Jean-Claude Ellena, perfumer to the house of Hermes, has created this collection of fragrances for both men and women which touch the heart and speak directly to the senses.

in other word, u will have to be a fan of minimalist art work by JCE, he is really a masterclass perfumer.. i fell in love with his touch after i gotten bigarade concentree. ya i know kinda bored but then do let me continue a few lines before i go to the next agenda...

Even though Hermes gave JCE take the lead and no new Hermessence launch unless JCE give an 'ok' signal but it is still abit constrain compared to what have he created for Frederic Malle... BC can last on me though out the day, and my female colleagues and friends say i smell nice... Hermessence.. spoiler ahead... well i like his approach of "man, u smell nice" rather than "yo, ur perfume smell nice"

so i went to Hermes in Gardens where i gotten my first bel ami, the SA recognize me lol... and i bite the bullet went for the travel gift set consist of 4x15ml spray.. (a very smart marketing move).. and Hermes is very generous with their samples... when i say generous.. it is generous

[attachmentid=4031245]
look on how they pay attention to small detail... on the travel set

[attachmentid=4031244]
the spray vial is in an individual pouch... the sample is 4ml vial... more on that later

[attachmentid=4031249]
after i strip them naked and do a group photo...

[attachmentid=4031253]
close up on my SOTD

one word can sums up their presentation... luxury...

after a few days dosing myself with them, i realise that JCE wanna portrait a discreet, luxury scent to a group of consumers who is i) ppl who dont care abt the price, just wan the orange bag or ii) JCE fan.. well i am the later

yes the ones that i choose are: Osmanthe Yunnan, Iris Ukiyoe, Santal Massoia, Epice Marine, as for samples: Vanille Galante, brin de reglisse, amber narguile... no rose??? well they ran out of stock, if not my first choice would be Rose Ikebana lol

do explore this line only if and only if longevity is not ur concern... notice the word "dosing" i mention just now... these babies have problem go past the 5th hr, if u lucky 6th hour  doh.gif but the scent quality.. impeccable.

This line is perfect for Malaysia climate, light, airy, transparent, wont offend, compliment getter, unique.. Eventually the four will be FBW in my collection... i look past the longevity issues and i can wear 2-3 frags a day which is pretty good lol... i know it is kinda long... i will put up individual review of the scent later but i can summary:

Osmanthe Yunnan - Sweet Apricot Tea
Epice Marine - Salty sea breeze at coast beside pier on an early morning
Santal Massoia - milky, creamy sandalwood
Iris Ukiyoe - Iris petal water with orange blossom

i think i better stop here... update later thanks for spending time reading such long essay

Amazing.....

SOTD : Charriol Royal Leather.

Can't stop hunting and searching for Leather notes which on my favorite scent notes.
And managed to get a decant from my overseas friend on this Switzerland perfume house.
First sniff on the bottle,It smells identical to Tuscan Leather & Golden Boy,Can't wait and pull a trigger of 5 shots.
As i can see the scent are really a clone on both of the mention scent.Yet is more to lighter side of leather instead of beast mode from Tuscan Leather.
So,Far I luving it and is cheaper for daily wear.Great to have this scent and might go for full-bottle when my decant of 25ml finish.

Happy Weekend All Fraghead.. Enjoy ur quality time with ur loved one wink.gif
Test drive my latest acquisition fragrance...
What most of the reviewer from Fragrantica says the resemble btw Bond No9.com and Creed Aventus.
Well,To my un-train nose.When you sniff from the nozzle,Is share the similarity,Pineapple semi-sweet seduction. While you pull your trigger and do a few shot to yourself. The scent are totally diff.. Let's see how the scent develop on my skin.

SOTD : BOND NO 9.COM

QUOTE(t0n3 @ Jul 5 2014, 04:33 PM)
Just picked it up from PosLaju warehouse this morning. Apparently, even though today's 1st Saturday, their warehouse is still business as usual.

My Le Maroc was a special request order as it's not listed on Essenza's catalog. CdM was a blind buy for me but since it's cheap and all natural so why not. Waited for a week before Le Maroc arrived at their store. Shipping took 10 days to reach my city. Oh yeah, shipping was FREE. Not sure if they forgot to add it in or as a courtesy for my waiting of Le Maroc.

Just as I thought I was done with all Tauer's classics lineup, Le Maroc blew me away the first time I tried it. It's my first floral oriental I absolutely adore. In order of preference, Le Maroc is currently my #1 favorite from the Tauer line, followed by Lonestar Memories and LDDM.

CdM is just okay for me. It's basically lemon on top with ambergris dry down. As a truly all natural cologne, this one does wear close to the skin.

Weather is really unpredictable..
Morning i got a high temp 34 while raining at mid-night...
And my latest acquisition for my heat buster :
Wearing it for a straight 2days.. feeling light and carefree with a hint of ripe fig without the milky way..
And perfectly blend with burst of citruses, bergamot, and citron.. <--- i luv citron man... especially the Citron from Atelier Cedrat Envirant.
