QUOTE(t0n3 @ Jul 16 2014, 05:56 PM) Both can be described as oasis and desert when it comes to niche perfume choices. Taiwan is the latter. Thanks bro for the list! No Dior exclusive I've seen in Hong Kong (Element Mall) and Taipei. For a list of niche perfume stores in Hong Kong, you may refer to this page :- - http://your-perfume-guide.blogspot.com/201...kong-china.html QUOTE(ludalord @ Jul 21 2014, 08:50 AM) hi guys, i'm new here and would ask a question. what do u guys recommend to get if i want a fragrance that has strong vanilla smell and long lasting? but i want it to be more masculine. also, i prefer if its less powdery/synthetic. thinking about tom ford tobacco vanille but i think its too pricey for me though. any recommendations? thx I second Eau des Baux suggestion by t0n3, a little powdery (most vanilla scents are powdery anyway) but its a dry/smokey vanilla, definitely masculine, strong and long lasting. |

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Jul 23 2014, 05:09 PM) Thanks for the heads up. Will drop by this Friday to sample some (pray hard that I don't end up getting a bottle). Yup. Last year this time was RM740 for 125ml. The SA said next year will increase somemore... The price has increased I guess - someone did mention before it was RM700+ for 125ml in 2013. |

QUOTE(MerryGoRound^2 @ Aug 16 2014, 12:16 AM) Can anyone recommend some colognes/perfume for men? I'm looking for your staple Cologne/Perfume, the one that gives out a masculine scent. Every time I buy one, it ends up being musky or too sweet smelling. I've tried a lot of brands and I can never seem to find the desired one. Have I been looking at the wrong place? What have you tried before? |

QUOTE(MerryGoRound^2 @ Aug 16 2014, 01:50 PM) I guess if I would have to describe a particular scent... It almost smells very subtle, but its subtle enough to capture your attention. And the smell isn't exactly sweet smelling, but very masculine. Sorry, I know I've said that. I can't really give another description. It's just perfumes that don't smell like a lady's. I'm not sure if I've been looking by buying from the wrong places because all my perfumes so far were brought from cheap places like Parkson or TheBodyShop, I could be looking at the wrong place. But I hope it isn't to the standards of Chanel either, because Chanel is so damn pricey I believe? You are not looking in wrong places, you just need to find the right scent for you. You can try these:Bleu de Chanel, Versace Pour Homme, Acqua di Gio, Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme They are masculine, kinda subtle but noticeable scents which most people will like them. Next time if someone walk past you with scent that make you turn head, just go ahead and compliment him/her and then ask what's he/she is wearing |

QUOTE(MerryGoRound^2 @ Aug 16 2014, 03:20 PM) Also, could anyone of you tell me how much would the price of the four perfumes mentioned above roughly cost? I am not so familiar Chanel especially, heard their items could go up to 1k+. The retail price should be slightly under RM300 for 100ml bottle. Nah, Chanel fragrances aren't that expensive. |

QUOTE(MerryGoRound^2 @ Aug 16 2014, 04:11 PM) I'll drop by at 1U later, not sure if they have Chanel though, forgot about that. But they give out sniff samples if customers requested for one right? In Malaysia, no free samples unless you bought something from them. You can spray some on your skin to test them though. |

QUOTE(edwardleong @ Aug 22 2014, 08:54 PM) This is the first time i am truly impressed with Sephora lol.... and i hate myself for being too vulnerable to anything associated to leather and floral lol Awesome bro » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I tried it today at Sephora too... wow you are so good at describing the scent! Opening I get boozy rum.. then the heart is dark, bitter sweet leather with something smell like rubber or plastic (I'm not the fan of this part.. kinda synthetic to my untrained nose).. and the dry down is soft chocolate woody (very nice).. and the bottle is absolutely gorgeous.. |

Just tried the Dior Homme Parfum in Sephora. A darker, less sweet and Arabian version of DHI. The sandalwood incensy note is very prominent here. Nice and smooth.

QUOTE(marver @ Sep 24 2014, 03:38 PM) Personally I prefer DHI as my untrained nose is not advance enough to enjoy arabian scent Both are great high quality scents but DHI is more wearable and versatile, and I can see DHP won't get as much compliments as DHI. DHP is too 'serious' |
