hahaha you wear interlude to the office!!! The projection from that one is also pretty strong!
*
Haha, yes Interlude is strong (but it's controllable) and pleasant smelling but Le Male is not. Not for my taste. Sorry to those who love this. That's why it is now in the hands of rightful owner. In fact, I never dared to wear it outside my house. That's why I'm always mindful if I wear something like A*men as many people find the tar note offensive. The same thing applies to those scents that have "offensive/unpleasant" animalic dirty notes to use as office scent. Sorry again to those who love those notes biggrin.gif

Guys, I am looking for replacement for my Chrome Cologne by Loris Azzaro.

The reason why I liked Chrome because it smells so fresh, like after taking a bath.

Any other alternative ?
*
I like and own a bottle of Chrome. I like it for what it is. Why look for replacement? For better performance? An upgrade? If it's about upgrade, you could consider my Dior Homme Sport (2012). Mine is a tester.

Nice haul there. I always pass by Acqua di Parrma counter but never have the chance to sample some of its creation.

I was at Parkson too yesterday with vouchers worth RM350 in my hand but getting these instead:

SOTD - Dior Homme Intense (2011) by Dior

Compared to Dior Homme, the iris note is toned down in this one and more well-blended I feel. I get another prominent note I’m not familiar with. I guess it’s the ambrette. I also get a pear note in the background, which adds slight fruitiness to it. The scent basically stays the same from opening to dry down. Moderate projection and good longevity on my skin. Overall feel I get from this is floral and powdery. The scent gets 4 out of 5 from me. I like it!

Used to really love this one to the point I bought a second bottle (tester). Now I don't think I'm able to finish it. However, I still love Dior Homme, which I also have a backup bottle of biggrin.gif

SOTD - Dior Homme (2011) by Dior

I really dig the waxy iris note in this. However, it doesn’t smell like the one in Narciso Rodriguez For Him Musk (NRFHM) and Narciso Rodriguez For Him Intense (NRFHI), which I don’t quite like. Quite linear and doesn’t change much from opening to dry down. Although marketed for men, I think this could easily be unisex. Overall feel I get from this is floral, powdery and elegant. Moderate projection and good longevity on my skin. The scent gets 5 out of 5 from me. It’s unique and of niche quality. Christian Dior is one of my favorite designer houses. They take chances in their creations and most of them are masterpieces in my eyes. I love it so much to the point I bought a second bottle of it.

SOTD - Incense Avignon by Comme des Garcons

This one needs no introduction. it's probably the best churchy scent out there. Finally took the plunge (had a decant of it from luckyscent in Aug this year) and bought it from an eBay seller in Germany. It arrived 3 weeks later. This is my best niche "churchy" scent. I'm gonnabe wearing this a lot in this x'mas month for sure.

Latest addition to my slim collection. Diesel Fuel For Life Spirit. Released in mid 2013, so it is a new perfume.
Review from a newbie after 1 day of using:

Said to be a better version of the original fuel for life which I had test at the mall several times, and like it, I thought I will just blind buy this after seeing some positive feedback in youtube and fragrantica.

The bottle is awesome, so much details + brown/gold juice, definitely a good buy for a collector in term of the design. Used the perfume for the first time, it is spicy, sweet and the cinnamon smells is great. Kinda have 1 million vibe with its sweetness. Cannot comment on the sillage and longevity yet as I used this and straight go to bed. But I think both is great if not excellent. Suitable for evening, night, or date IMO but I will wear this to office and see what people said.  tongue.gif

Overall love it, and will keep continue hunting for a new perfume.
edit : sorry the pic is quite big, don't know how to resize.

Didn't know about this one. Amber, incense, cinnamon and iris. Do you get all these notes? Does it smell like DHI?

If you like sweet fragrance, you can try this. No, the opening for me is totally different. If iris is the liptick smell, then i got no iris in Fuel for life spirit. But review from fragrantica says that they smell the iris. http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Diesel/...irit-17821.html. Cinnamon and amber(spicy right?) are there. Not sure how incense smell though. The drydown for this and DHI for me is quite same. Sorry I need to wear it few more times to really get all the notes and compare to DHI.
Btw, I think...may be..you won't like it.  biggrin.gif
Edit :  just googled how iris smells, and yes, I got the iris in FuelForLifeSpirit.

Good review there. Keep it up. Understanding and smelling the actual essential oils help in dissecting the notes. You could also do the compare and identify method. I too still have a lot of notes to learn but that's the fun part.

Amber is one of my favorite notes. It isn't spicy but is honey sweet and resinous. Mostly only blended one is used in perfumery. Synthetic note created in lab. Quoting from fragrantica it's "usually labdanum, benzoin, vanilla, styrax and fir".

Thank you I will, I never smell any essential oil. Need to learn a lot, will do it slowly. Tonney bro, I really start to love Scenstory 24 gold. I guess maybe I like the vanilla note. And it got some oud also right?
I guessed you would like 24 Gold since it's sweet. It has oud but not much so it's not a good reference point. Amber and vanilla are the two predominant notes I get.

Some scents need time to grow on you. I didn't like Ambre Sultan and PAPHI at first but now I love them so much. LIDGE was love at first sniff for me maybe because I'm older (30's) biggrin.gif

Okay, let me be the bad guy here. Please stop bombarding our perfume thread. You guys are turning it into a battlefield now. If you guys still feel the need to continue in doing so please take the matter offline. This is not a debating platform.

Peace out.

I don't know bro, I really like FFL spirit. But for some reason i feel you guys wont like it because it has 1million vibe.. wink.gif
Bro, what matters is that you like it, feel it's worth the price it asks for and within your budget. At least that's for me. Even though I own bottles of niche and high-end designers, I still like and wear cheapies like 24 Gold and Azzaro Chrome. Although DHS is a high-end designer I still gave it away.

Don't worry. Bro Edward would sample first before buying. Blind buy is your last resort if you have no choice.

x'mas present for my mom is wrapped and ready to go. Although my mom used to wear Joy by Jean Patou and Fidji by Guy Laroche both in parfum concentration that my dad gifted during the 80's, she never really liked heavy scent and couldn't finish them. As a result, there is still some juice left. Both have the same vibe as Shalimar by Guerlain with Joy is a lot stronger than Fidji.

Anyway, I didn't know who Jean Claude Ella was until I read a book written by him called "The Diary of a Nose". No one does better "transparent" scent than he does so what better fragrance to choose from other than Mr. Jean's even though he's not my favorite perfumer.

Luca Turin gave Jour d'Hermes by Hermes 4 bottles out of 5. I don't agree with some of his ratings but he is right on this one.

The point is misleading others. I dont mind if he's trying to get sales for his thread by leading newbies to buy from him or his 'friends', but i just dont like to think of how newbies are being misled into imaginary perfume releases. Which is why I often back up my 'new' releases with a source to the website. In bigger perfume forums, doing either one of those will get you banned and the other members will attack you.
+1

Don't get me wrong. I'm not siding either one here. I only stand by the truth. I don't support what you two are doing in our perfume thread and since when is giving wrong information a "just let it be" thing? Although we can't control what people post here, those who read it should always do so at your own risk since we don't have a moderator here. As we all already know reliability of information given is based on credibility of the person. Having said that, I believe no one is ever really/intended in giving wrong information here. What bro kel posted about pre-release of Dior Homme Eau for men is REAL after all. I believe bro joey has in a way indirectly "apologized" by posting the source to back it up. He could have kept it to himself. This retaliation will not stop until either side stop attacking.

So, usually the postage is around 10days bro? Quite fast. I really want the 200ml perry ellis 360 red, will use it as my go to scent.
And one more thing, do you feel using lotion before applying perfume make the perfume projects better or have a better longevity even if a bit?
*
Usually within 10 days if there's no delays in between. I received once in just 6 days. You can track the movement on DHL website and it's updated almost in real-time. I live in East Malaysia so yours would probably take even shorter time.

Lotion your skin before applying perfume does make it last a little longer but may hinder projection for crisp/fresh scent.

QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Dec 13 2013, 07:54 AM)
Well the male brain is more detailed and will tend to be more technical compared to women's brains. Women's brains are more emotional driven in general (the male driver/women driver difference) but these days the lines are blurred. Some good perfumers are women (Mona di Orio, Beatrice Piquet (creator of LIDG and LIDGE), Olivia Giacobetti (Hiris, Elixir, most of the L'artisan scents), Calice Becker (all of the By Killian scents), Germaine Cellier (Balmain Vent Vert, Shocking).

But one thing is that most scents from female perfumers tend to have less notes standing out compared to male perfumers. Perhaps that is what it meant?
*
I don't know that many perfumer but Daniela (Roche) Andrier is one of my favorite ones with her PAPH. I believe she also created PAPHI. Her other creations may be simple but PAPH/PAPHI are complex and are one of my absolute favorites.

Haha, I'm waiting for fragX to restock Reverie Au Jardin by Tauer's. Ever since I got a decant of it from Astroboy (thanks) I can't get it off my head. It could be my best niche lavender scent although I haven't tried the other ones. STC, I am looking at you! mad.gif

Is ferrari red a good perfume ?
I have't tried Red. The only Ferrari scents I've tried are Essence Oud (decant from kel), Sliver Essence (tried it overseas) and Black (tried it locally). Black smells very similar to Boss Bottled by Hugo Boss to my nose.

I tried Pure Havane & pure malt during the day with no air-con, only fan.

It actually smells good and not cloying. Was using 3-4 sprays ea.

It seems girls like pure havane better than pure malt, but they cant detect the 'ashy' note.

Verdict :
Both can actually be used during the day in our Malaysian weather. In fact, both smells nice.
*
I tried both Pure Havane and Pure Malt (decants from Astroboy). Both are good but personally I prefer Pure Malt better for its originality and uniqueness although I discovered recently during one of my nose adventures that Energy by Dashing smells like Pure Malt doh.gif
