you might wanna check out Roja Dove's Haute Parfumrie in harrods if you're in london.
*
QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Sep 25 2013, 10:13 AM)
Also, dont forget to check out the grossmiths. super expensive tho
*
Gonna go to London next week maybe. Gonna check it all. I kinda interested in Grossmith although the price is like very insane.

QUOTE(t0n3 @ Sep 25 2013, 09:55 AM)
Thanks m.dandollah for the list. Harrods, how could I forget this one. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to make it there. Found and went in thePerfumeShop but they have designers only.
*
Harrods got tonnes of niche perfume. It is a bummer Edinburgh don't have one. The nearest one is in Glasgow though.

SOTD: Tom Ford Private Blend Collection Black Violet.

Ok. My sample is arrived. Here is my opinion:

Dries Van Noten - I like it. It is sandalwood and vanilla. it gives warm and cosy feeling. not overpowering imo.

By Killian Rose Oud - Rubbery medicinal sweet smell with a hint of rose. Yuck.

Frederic Malle Potrait of A Lady - I smeel patchouli with rose. and incense. not impress me much.

Thanks for the reviews. Which part is yuck in Rose Oud for you? The rubbery medicinal sweetness?
*
Yes. The rubbery medicinal sweetness. But, after for a while it turn to be very nice with oud and rose not so strong. Now i am in dilemma of choosing between Dries Van Noten or Rose Oud. Sigh...

SOTD: L'heure Bleue by Guerlain

Almonds, heliotrope, vanilla, iris. stunningly beautiful. No wonder a classic.

well nobody here are into guerlains anyway save for LIDGE tongue.gif
*
i am well into Guerlain. But only on their L'Art et la Matiere (Angélique Noire) and Les Déserts d'Orient (Rose Nacree du Desert). hard to get though.

have to wait for them to be on sale on BN or splits i guess. thats what i do too. I dont mind the wait.
*
splits is a very good idea. but, if i were back at homeland, we can discuss it further. however, we are in different continent, it is not practical. £200 per bottle now in Ebay. sigh~

if you're near a Guerlain boutique it works too. SG Tangs has the full exclusif range.

the fabled derby is just another strong leather scent.
*
Harvey Nichols Edinburgh doesnt carry Guerlain exclusif range. Only Nasamatto, Dyptique(which is not exclusif anymore), Tocca, Tom Ford and Armani Prive. Need to travel to Harrods London for that. Hmmm

Haha luxury fragrance is one level higher than niche... Way out of my reach at the moment, tot of trying a few 50ml bond no 9 as they r priced around 300-400 in fragranceX or save up to go for aventus or tom ford tuscan leather that ppl say do smell like cocaine
*
Go for Tuscan Leather. I'll save up meself some penny to buy Serge Luten Santal Majuscule. Tried Chergui, did not like it much. Ambre Sultan also a liker. Hmm.. I think sandalwood really is my thing. and roses. and aoud. Even in SM there is no aoud.

I love Ambre Sultan. It's my holy grail of Amber within my reach and I like fresh scents too but I can't take Rose. Guess we all have different tastes. Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing  biggrin.gif
*
totally. it is own-self preferences. i like roses, irises, sandalwood and aldehydes perfume. did not dig bergamot. oud is now my thing too.

SOTD = Dries Van Noten Frederic Malle.

Thanks for letting us know this new niche house, new at least for me. How much is a bottle of this? One of them, The Bug seems like my kinda scent with the resins.
*
It is affordable. Like seriously. It goes by the grams but for the price but it is stated ml on the back of the bottle. Which is kinda confusing. For this one, 43ml is about £37. It smells so strong. I only need two dab or i will suffocate myself for about half hour. But the floral is very nice and delicious.

Next target: Maison Martin Margiela (untitled)
