price? include astro?

Sorry bro, this is not Astro Box. I presumed you are confused by those Iptv seller that theft channels from Astro. Himedia is not selling Iptv channels to you, but the Android TV box for you to run Android apps and stream high quality audio video. You can subscribe to those third party Iptv separately by yourself.

Just wondering why AstroGo or maybe other apps not working on Q10 pro or certain TV Box? Is related to the license or chipset that use on the device?
*
This is due to AstroGO develop the apps not the chipset.

Good app developer will code the apps to be compatible with hardware as many as possible. Unfortunately AstroGO develop the app compatible to limited devices.

if u still dun understand...

what u r looking for... one time payment or free aztro streams - these r illegal, illegitimate.

nobody talks about them in public... becos they are ILLEGAL!!

u can pm the illegal/ahem app sellers.

then, there are some apps that offer alternatives, similar.

these are free but may not last long - that's why they r free.

and there is plenty of it.

most people do not buy boxes just for illegal stuff.

people buy boxes mainly for:

.. own local playback, fabulous video+audio quality.
.. free apps... all kinds, various quality, stability, longevity.

been using this 2.0.8 firmware for 2 weeks now.

it's good, best one to date.

...

nicety, any idea if there is a new model in the pipeline?

q10pro now is able to do some of the most impt and best things:

.. full bluray menu
.. kodi dd/dd+ audio passthru
.. compatibility with astrogo/playtv

the only things on the "wishlist" would be netflix 4k/hd and dolby vision which are unlikely due to licensing issues.

actually wondering what other new features and improvement may come with next gen android (8) boxes...?

You are right, Dolby Vision is due to license issue. Netflix 4K is beyond Himedia control, the Netflix is proprietary app.

At the moment no plan by himedia for next generation because Hisilicon did not release any new chipset and there is no codec newly launched. It does not made sense to launch new box just repacking it with new Android OS.

ok, thanks for info.

actually, not a big problem... Netflix 4k... to get 4k, one must hv a 4k tv and most 4k tvs come with netflix app... so, that's covered.
DV... not many tv's can handle that anyway.. and material is lacking, not much available.

i was thinking if there can be an "expanded" q5pro... say an octacore chipset... maybe faster?
and 2/16 or even 3/32gb - i am a big fan of larger storage! biggrin.gif
16gb is necessary as the apps get bigger; 32gb will be better.
larger storage is very useful for p2p like kodi quasar and utorrentpro.

There is no Octa Core set-top box chipset from hisilicon at the moment. Regarding the RAM and Flash memory, it made sense to increase to 3/32GB or 4/64GB, I already suggested this road map to Himedia two years ago. Hope they listen to me for the next generation model. Anyhow, Himedia still no plan to release new model at the moment until there is new chipset.
