Thank you for inquiry bro, please find below my answer :-how is 3D playback performance?
-do it support all type of 3D format?
-can it handle HD movie with more than 30Gb and higher bitrate?
-firmware update support is reliable?
1). Personally I hv tested the 3D movies in my Samsung LED TV, I do not see any performance problem.
2). It support side by side, top down and BlueDay 3D. In the market the 3D movies files are in MP4, MKV and BDISO format, all supported
3). Because today processor with dual core/quad core are fast enough to play huge movies files, you can rest assure about this doubt. Even very low end Android Player can play 30GB or higher files already today. I think you are influenced by the traditional media player.
4). Himedia has its repetition because of the continuous firmware improvement. If you check the history of Q5/Q10, the firmware version, there are more than 15 versions available until now. Even Q5/Q10 already end of sale in October, but this month Himedia still release new firmware for version 1.1.5 as mentioned in this thread.
Since you are survey the player, just share with you about the selection criteria of Android TV box :
1). Due to the the box running in Android OS and the flexibility of install Android App, the function of the box is beyond the limit. Post sales support and sharing of experiences is as important in order to fully utilize your box.
2). Selection criteria of Android TV box is not the CPU speed or number of cores, very important is the audio/video decoding capability and the reliability of the hardware.
3). Renown hardware principle with in-house Android engineer to continuously develop the firmware to fix software bugs and capable to develop Android Apps for valued added functionality.
4). The input and output capability to fulfill different needs such as Video Cam, home theater, Amplifier and etc.
5). Please avoid Stick base Android TV due to the heat and wifi signal issues.
