Got the ota update for my takju nexus.

Btw got list of changes? Why android website never list down the complete changes? I notice now can use volume button to take picture..

And also I cannot go above 97% in a charge. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Lulz today unplugged at 100% at 6.40am. Reach college about 90% already at 8am. Turned on powersave and lowest brightness and let my friend play candy crush for like 2 hours. 10am 50% with 1hr56m screen time. Not bad laa smile.gif

In the end how many hours used on a single charge? That's legitly good. I'm having similar results. biggrin.gif

You won't want to look at their changelog. It's for developer biggrin.gif

http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/07/29/de...oid-4-3-jss15j/

Have a look here.

Basically...

1) Updated camera UI
2) Fstrim!! (This is the most important thing in 4.3 that keeps your phone smooth over time!)
3) What else? Can't remember biggrin.gif

Some of the changes only for tablet, not for phone.

new maps 7.0..
how to save offline maps for offline viewing?
somehow it auto cache while scrolling but u cannot dedicate like last time.
nid go somewhere, still have to load and eat data.

moreover, the gps location shows lock, but the blue dot location is close to 200-500m away from standing point.
very inaccurate after update.

type "okay maps" but not working here for me. already ask this question before, I guess none of us manage to get offline maps right?

BTW, in android 4.2.2, dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=92m and dalvik.vm.heapsize=256m
can any of android 4.3 user check, any change or still remain?

96m 256m

On Cataclysm + Fancy Kernel.

What was the value in 4.1.1?

EDIT:

QUOTE
build.prop should be:
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=64m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=384m
(like Nexus 7)

instead of:
dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit=96m
dalvik.vm.heapsize=256m

Should I change and try? biggrin.gif

Even thought Cataclysm + Fancy is already smooth enough, I'll just test for fun biggrin.gif

Changed the value and rebooted my phone.

Cataclysm + Fancy is rock solid! Up for 4 days with virtually no lag, still smooth as usual. No FC, no reboot no nothing!!!

Updated OTA 4.3, phone became unresponsive.
Soft buttons stopped responding.
Unable to wake from screenlock, had to remove battery to restart.

Quickly transferred all my stuff via airdroid before performing system reset.

Scariest update lol.

Oooo so what does one do with that info? Is build.prop like some file to tell the phone how to manage the hardware like memory? :3

How's the battery life for Cataclysm + Fancy? Compared to Cataclysm + cataclysm kernel?

laugh.gif I'm not sure about OTA. From 4.2.2 Custom ROM, I flashed 4.3 Factory image the same night 4.3 released (released early morning, flashed in the night). The next day, I'm already on Custom ROM, almighty Cataclysm with its Custom kernel. The next day, I'm already on Fancy kernel, which fixed laggy gaming experience (just Minion Rush and Riptide GP2).

Very laggy in Pure Stock 4.3 > Laggy in Cataclysm + Included Kernel > Not 100% smooth but very playable in Cataclysm + Fancy Kernel biggrin.gif

Have fun!

Ya... Something like that.

There's a number of build.prop edits like DPI (look for 320 in it, change it to something like 240/260/280 then reboot, everything looks smaller), UI (change to tablet UI or so - not 100% sure), etc etc. It also contains the phone info like build number, android version etc. Never try to change those though. Maybe can change android 4.3 to 10.0 or something? biggrin.gif Possibly goes haywire.

Hahahahah yes yes about the Android Version I read about it because some dude bought a Nexus 4 off craiglist with 4.3 in it some suspect build.prop being meddled with. Ahhhh so Paranoid Android's secret weapon is build.prop ooo. Thanks! biggrin.gif

Paranoid's weapon is build.prop? I don't think so. They mess deeper into it.

Build.prop probably be used to set overall UI dpi but not per app dpi. Not sure how they set it.

Per app dpi can be achieved using Xposed framework + App Settings module. Wanted to try it on 4.3 but quite risky. Don't want to take the risk.

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Same here!!!!!

A year and a month back (yes, my GNex is now 1 year + 1 month old!), I got my phone.

Never thought an update was so near. Used it for a week, then Jelly Bean 4.1 came doh.gif

That's it, cherry was popped and never look back!

First "Custom" ROM is bigxie 4.1 then I stayed with Fitsnugly's AOKP Nightlies for few months. Tried Slim Bean, CNA, etc etc along the path. Then there it comes 4.2. I've waited long enough before I update to 4.2 because of quite a number of negative feedbacks. Soon after that, I tried Paranoid 4.2. Then also tried Domination for a few builds. Earlier this year, I went for Orca and never looked into other ROMs because I need those features integrated into that ROM! Until recently, 4.3 launched and I finally got back to Stock biggrin.gif For... 24 hours + few hours. Then I'm on Cataclysm!

Kernel wise... 4.1: Trinity 4.2: Lean >> Fancy 4.3: Fancy wink.gif

Love this phone!
