I use file expert (phone) + filezilla (pc) for FTP.

Both need to be on same wifi network. Then use Fileexpert to 'Share via FTP'. It'll host a FTP server. Just key in these details into Filezilla to access your phone storage.

I think you should try to charge it with the phone off. Sometimes mine stuck also but can continue to charge after turning it off.
