I used the edifier speaker for my IPOD 5G for 2 months (i can't remember the model but it's the cute litter 2.1 system with a long sub-woofer...you know..) and the sound is like .....normal 2.1 system!

Recently changed to the SonicGear A8...WOOWWW...rich and worm sound and the best is that the system is HD ready...means.the sound clarity is perfect and the bass is firm. The sound is better if you connect the optical cable via your CD player or DVD player...worth trying.

To get optimum sound form IPOD with SonicGear A8, IMHO...convert the sound track into WAV or apple lossles...you will like it....
