That's why use blue tooth for calls and avoid msg when driving. Only do that when you are traffic light. I still remember BB time. Can text without seeing the phone cos got keypad tongue.gif

Checked the first page but couldn't find a statement saying if the new bootloader is possible to be rooted directly via PC Odin.
I know in the past, the bootloader needed to be downgraded . Not too sure after so long if there is already a possibility to root directly with the latest bootloader.

Thanks.

Can, use CF Root method ( use Odin in PC ) but no Recovery. After root use Mobile odin to flash TWRP
*
Ohh.. that means now new bootloader can liau.
no need to downgrade anymore. That's great news.

Saw some comments saying that TWRP is much better than CWM.
After 5 months, suddenly I feel like coming back to the old habit of ROM flashing again laugh.gif

Anything smaller than the Note2 screen is now puny. tongue.gif
Everyone has been flashing left, right and center. No reports of issues with the new bootloader so far.

Unlike what I was just reading about the Verizon Note2 bootloader which is a cat and mouse game between the xda devs and the OTA updates that re-lock it.

Do look forward to seeing your entries in the survey:)

I'm out of this forum for far too long. sweat.gif
I remember when I first got the Note2, if you had accidentally updated the ROM (official), the new bootloader would be loaded. It is needed to downgrade before it is possible to root or something like that. Remember seeing some pictures showing the old and new bootloader on the boot-up screen.

Too much hassle therefore decided not to root. The other reason was the official ROM itself was already very good laugh.gif

Framaroot is by the guy who discovered the Exynos abuse exploit, so I'm quite sure his apk is capable.

I think this is in post 7. On mobile hard to check tongue.gif

My bad.. Should've seen it.
Exploit.. hmm.gif sounds like iOS jail breaking term laugh.gif

Guess I'll just do it over TWRP.
Not too sure about the credibility of EFS backup on TWRP.
Anybody successfully restore EFS using TWRP before?

stupid question, how do I boot to TWRP?
Vol Up + Home + ON brings me to 3e Recovery

Think I might have not installed TWRP properly with MOP.
Just to check, all I need to do is to "Open File" in MOP and select the .zip file correct?

2 possibilities . Firstly , it means u didnt manage to flash in TWRP .... If u did , it wouldnt be 3d recovery .  2ndly , try not 2 let your hp bootup after u flash TWRP , boot it back to TWRP or stock recovery will normally replace it again after u reboot without entering TWRP first . What i normally do is I pull out the battery once I c the Samsung n7100 logo , wait 5 sec , put the battery back in and use the 3 button combo like u mentioned to boot into recovery . This only happen once , right after u flash . After that , it will be TWRP every time u reboot into recovery .
*
Got it..
Didn't remove the battery though. Just force it reboot to recovery again after finishing the TWRP installation.

Performing TWRP backup now. 3GB+ rclxub.gif

The MOP zip is not your CWM zip !!!! MOP zip is only the special type called "Update.zip". Otherwise you need the TAR or TAR.MD5 I think.

I could be wrong but I screwed myself before by flashing a zip ROM via MOP tongue.gif
*
hmm.gif not sure what happened then.
I downloaded the 2.5.0.1 zip file and flash via MOP directly using the "Open File"..

p/s: not flashing CWM, am flashing TWRP

btw, is it possible for the TWRP to recognize external SD card?
I did the backup and it is stored in the internal memory. Would like to move the entire TWRP folder to the SD card
