hi guys need opinion

I am looking for a bday present for gf

tot of getting her a headphone as daily use (probably musics while on her way to work) and home use (movie/musics)

I want to ask regarding this headphone
V-moda LP

got offer from the forumer in this forum for RM 550

for this price range and the product, what do u think?
kindly give me some input and guide me..

Any other alternative between price range 300-500?
big thanks
*
would your gf like the design for v-moda? v-moda is known to a lot of audiophiles for having nice design and sound quality which is better than beats. But do know that most of v-moda headphones have bassy signature so does your gf like to lsiten to house, electronic, dubstep? because the crossfade LP isnt the best pairing for instrumentals and vocals and classical music if thats what she likes.

One of my friend told me to get FA Consonance instead of XP series..  rclxub.gif
So how about Fischer Audio Consonance? Is it better to buy it than beyerdynamic xp3?  unsure.gif

Sorry for asking to much, because I'm looking for a versatile one...  sweat.gif
*
wouldnt know I havn't tried the FA consonance. I've only tried what has been available at jaben D: but if you want my other suggestions you can of course try Headdirect RE-400 and Dunu Topsound Trident, i've personally used the dunu tridents and they are really good entry level IEM's. THe RE-400 on the other hand Clieos sifu highly recommends it saying it is the best you can get in it's price range and if you get it the only upgrade you should go for is top of the line like Westone 4 and above.

My current Phonak 132 is starting to show some issues. Might need to get a new one soon.

Your rig: iPhone 4s, iMac through ordnance .25 amp
What type of usage : Music
File format used in your source: mp3, flac
Genre of music you listen to: Rock/ Pop/ Ambient/ OST
Headphone/ earphone type: Something with similar or better clarity, accuracy and smoothness then the Phonak 132 with better bass. The Phonak 132 are really enjoyable and I'm not a basshead, but they really isn't any bass on them unless amped.
Other requirements: Remote/mic would be good. A 2 years warranty or more would be good.

Budget : Around Rm1000
*
at that budget maybe you can save up a lil more than to get maybe the Westone 4r,Shure se535,PFE 232 the top of the lines but if you can't spend more maybe try the TDK BA200 i'm using it and damn its really nice. Or you can check out the Dunu Tai-Chi it's Dunu Topsound's current flagship model it has exchangeable parts to change the way it sounds like and comes with loads of accessories.

Oh yeah cant forget about the UE900 as well hahaha xD

QUOTE(RoundShells @ May 29 2013, 03:36 AM)
Hello,

I'm looking for full sized headphones. I don't know which type but yeah, as long as they're not earphones (earbuds, in-ear, etc.). Mainly be using it for music, with .mp3 being the main file type. My rig would be my phone (sony ericsson elm, w/3.5mm adapter). I mainly listen to contemporary pop, and a lil bit of rock. I do not want the mic. My budget is RM100, as I'm still a student tongue.gif

Would appreciate the help biggrin.gif ,
Thanks,
RoundShells

If at that budget try finding some secondhand superlux's either the 668b or 681

hi sifus again..
thanks for recommending me the XP3 from Beyerdynamics.. love it after 100+ hours of burn in..
I'm now looking for a new headphones, for an upgrade for sound quality..
my budget is less than RM 1000 (good price to performance ratio)
my rig : n55sf laptop and my handphone SE elm with 3.5mm (gonna upgrade soon)
genre : all rounder
usage : music
been choosing between ATH-M50, Beyer COP and Beyer DT 770 pro (32, 80)..
should I get a DAC like the Fiio E10 or the amp, Fiio E11??
gonna get them from Jaben smile.gif
thx for helping again..

What's your signature you like bass? Or do you like sweet vocals or great guitar sound? Do you like neutral and balanced sound?

But if according to your xp3 I think m50 or 770pro suit you. You can check out ad900x or a900x. If want entry level I highly recommend the e10. Sold mine off but think I'm going to buy another one for my laptop.

Ad900x and a900x find from gshoppe bro. Or can order from japan like me cheaper but wait longer and no local warranty.

E10 can't work with smart phones without certain software. Clarity I think ad900x not bad.

Anyone can give some advice on the HE-400? Like whats good about it and whats bad about it I want more than just reviews I want consumer opinions please would it be a good upgrade from my AD900X? HE-400 or W1000X?

Or any recommendations for something close to shure se535 in form of a full size headphone? Smooth crisp highs which aren't too bright and that beautiful lush and forward mids which has barely any sibilance. I really want to find a headphone which can give me this.

yeap... so Im hoping the airport will have test unit of M50 out

mm yeah but i cant be bothered with an amp i guess, id rather have a composite all-in-one, even if those amps are small... if DT 770 is good i would take it, looks comfortable, just that reviews complain the sound is weak, while i didnt see that for M50

also it comes in so many different resistances, that means we just pick the lowest available? sometimes buying also inconvenient when theres product variation
*
if you dont mind me asking what airport sells headphones? would be interested to see xD

Thanks for the reply. But sorry i forgot to mention. Is there any recommendation with a mic?
*
honestly if you just want a gaming headset get the carcharias or the steel siberia v2. most audiophile headphone have no mic and were not made for gaming because, you don't need much effort to make gaming headsets because sound quality is not really a priority. The features are what sets audiophile headphones and gaming headphones apart.

Thanks, yeah that was the drawback in audiophile headphones. A desk mic is ok, but not convenient. Thanks for the recommendation.
Is there any reason for the 2 you mention? In all honesty i am looking for a gaming headset. The availability of a mic is important but at the same time i hope the sound quality would not be that bad.
*
well carcharias is incredibly comfortable xD the most comfy gaming headset I had. The mic is also good enough for gaming. Siberia my friend has it and he says its comfy.

QUOTE(yuka @ Jul 19 2013, 02:53 PM)
Fostex T50RP or modified MrSpeakers Mad Dog headphone?
Do you think worth buying the Mad Dog or just DIY mod?
*
I have the T50RP, and have been actively modding it as well. One thing you should know BMF aka bluemonkeyflyer(talked to him a few times through e-mail really really friendly guy) from headfi has been doing mods for T50RP for a very long time. You should check out his incremental mods thread which provides frequency graphs for various mods. mr.speakers also known as the person who made the mad dog used to be active within BMF's thread, though I have not seen what's inside a mad dog but im certainly sure that the mad dog has a certain combination of mods which are similar to BMF's mods. But the main feature of the mad dog would their pads, they tune their headphones to suit their mad dog pads and alpha pads and that's actually most of the cost. Mad Dog's are considered dark to many headfi-er's.

I'd recommend you DIY yourself, following BMF's DBV#3 mod. I have a bit extra of everything so I could send you most of the materials for no cost if you just bare postage only. I love my T50RP more than I have loved any other headphone I owned and doubt i'll upgrade anymore. Just too much modding potential and the driver can handle anything.

QUOTE
To upgrade the T50RP, MrSpeakers first seals the vents in the back, which should give the headphone more bass while maybe losing some of the spaciousness that open-back headphones tend to produce. Then the company tunes the acoustics of the enclosure through strategic application of felt, foam, and fibrous stuffing. Then it adds plush, angled leather pads reminiscent of those we saw on Audeze’s $1,999 LCD-3

I used to have the XP 2, but due to the comfort, I sold it out after few hours of getting it

The sound quality is good, but no matter what u must have the great comfort of using it. If great sounding shitty comfort no use having it

But the XP 2's sound quality was quite good. I am just a beginner, dun know all technical stuffs like dynamic or mids or anything haha, but quite a well balance pair, not too bassy or anything

A great alternative I can recommend u is Sony XBA-1 at the same price, comfort is great on that ism
*
usually for beginner IEM's I like to recommend Dunu Topsound line.

I started with the Dunu Tridents really good entry level IEM's. IMO sounds better than the XP series eventhough one costs RM199 and another costs below RM100

Hi, hope sifu here can recommend me a good earphone notworthy.gif

Rig      : Samsung galaxy S3
Budget : RM100-200 (willing to top up a lil bit if the earphone is worth the value)
Usage  : Movies, Music
Format : MP3
Genre  : Pop
Type    : IEM
Other requirement:
-Clarity over bass
-Mic
Currently i'm using Sonic Gear Earpump 2 which is still functioning
*
I'd recommend Dunu Tridents should be able to get for below RM100 and it's built like a tank, super durable and has a nice warm signature.
