i use iTunes as my default ripper+converter, but i use Winamp as my default media player....but after i bought this original Guang Liang-Yue Ding,as usual,i use iTunes to rip it to 128kbps AAC/M4A...so it went normally...after succesfully ripping the CD,i play it with iTunes and it was P-E-R-F-E-C-T...so i guess it was a succesfull rip...but when i use Winamp to play it,it can't play it....same goes to WMP...only iTunes can play it..i guess it have something to do with the chinese lettering coz i re-rip the CD with another computer that is NOT connected to the internet and the filename is english(track 1,track 2 etc...),it played succesfull yon Winamp....so i'm guessing is the chinese lettering? will post 1 of the song i've rip(the 1 that cannot work with Winamp) later after i uploaded it on Rapdshare... regards edit:forgotten to say that this is the first chinese album i've ripped with iTunes... Yes. Chinese filename problem. Didn't you try renaming to test your theory?
There is a temporary fix for the Chinese filename problem. Use AppLocale to start Winamp.

AppLocale is not Winamp plugin, but a tool from Microsoft. Have you renamed your file to english filename? Does it work?
If yes, then you've found the problem. In the Regional and Language Options, Advanced tab, there is this Language for non-Unicode programs; changing to Chinese (PRC) will enable Winamp to open Chinese filename. The problem is after changing, some other files containing characters like Áêçäã (European languages) can't be opened. Also, some pdf file show up as unexpected Chinese characters where it should be lines. This problem also occur elsewhere - unexpected Chinese characters appearing. So you'll need to change back and forth between English and Chinese (for the Language for non-Unicode), and it needs restart.
The solution is download AppLocale from download.microsoft.com

If no AppLocale, then go Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Advanced tab, Language for non-Unicode programs, change to Chinese (PRC). Restart.
After using your computer with that setting for a few days, you'll notice chinese character appearing somewhere that it should not be. Some files with weird characters (éîÝú) as filename cannot be opened. Very irritating side effect, that is. Then you'll need to change back to English. And need another restart.
The function of AppLocale is to avoid the stupid restart. If you don't have much Chinese songs, just use han yu pin yin filenames. Also, you can google for that software tool. Check the digital signature, should be signed by Microsoft Corporation. MD5 EA7DBF78F8572EF2FB88A2F34A91A1A4 apploc.msi
