That's different coz that's a matter of accent, english vs. american. But pronouncing Ayamas as Err-Yeow-Mah maybe unacceptable, even for a non-native.

I was trying to emphasise like how americans exaggerate the 'a' 'uh' sound in an 'o'. Like when wonder becomes one-der instead of won-der. So yeah it ryhmes with 'wonder'. Maybe I should've spelt whupper?
