Mechanical keyboard KIT

Alright we may be able to offer some kits to local market

87/104
Plate/PCB mount
Led holes
ABS, PBT, or no keycap
Plastic casing or aluminium casing
Detacheable USB
Costar stabilizer

Now, discuss and decide. This wont be as customizable as gh60 but will save you a hell lot of pain. If poor response then we wont offer custom boards anymore. Whether this is doable or not will depend on the response. Price will be more or less the same as the vortex oni
*
Will we be able to get separate parts?

I am interested in the aluminium casing.

EDIT: wait.. vortex aluminium casing?

Ah nevermind, just realize it's Vortex casing.

Anyway, come on peeps! Get this going! Customize your own keyboard! : )

I guess the majority of customization is still limits to keycaps and casing the most within our current community.
*
The Aluminium casing looks very good, I think kai posted about them before. You can get that, and keycaps just buy from GH and settle. The purpose of Cyntrix customization is.. a keyboard of what you want. I'm sure you can choose the switches you like as well. Or just buy the parts, I'm not sure if Cyntrix would do that, but if can, buy the parts, ask someone(kai bro can do it) to assemble them for you with the work of sticker + lubing + spring change the switches, and voilah! your own keyboard! : )

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ May 14 2013, 04:40 PM)
Nice method by topre to break into the mainstream market.
For the general masses, they might need more education, as Topre's feels like a normal rubber dome, but better.

Pretty hard to tell the difference compare to MX switches.
Time to offer customization service tongue.gif

Ok, I'm a bit of a WASD fan especially since they use Costar. Waiting for the V2 to get my own fully customised (because I'm too lazy to do it myself and can afford to pay for someone else to customise it) WASD keyboard.

Have they fixed the LED yet?

I think this is WASD's first LED backlit keyboard. Haven't seen anything about them having one before. But since I'm still new to this, I could be wrong.

I know the Storm Trigger uses Cherry style stabilisers instead of Costar due to the backlighting issue. WASD may have solved the problem. Well just have to wait for the 'Code' to come out and see how it is I guess. I don't think I'll be buying the first batch as I'd rather wait and see what others have to say before I buy one myself.

Anyone with Topre's by the way? I read that they feel more like rubber dome than like mechanical. Don't really like the feel of rubber dome anymore since I've been using a mechanical regularly. Would like to see how the rich people feel about their uber expesive Topre's...Ā  thumbup.gif

EDIT: I forgot. The Mionix Zibal 60 also features backlit design by Costar. I have no idea what kind of stabilisers though.
*
No, the LED on the caps lock, num lock when you enable them. Those LED are like lasers, shoot through the wall.

Topre is rubberdome, expensive rubberdome. ^^ A bit tactile, 55g is the best. Cannot say rich people feel about their uber expensive topre.. these people might have sold all their MX board because they prefer Topre. You say like that, later offend people only.

The 'rich' people thing was meant as a joke. Hope no one is offended as I can afford a Topre, just that no matter how much you can afford something, doesn't mean you just go and buy it.

Qoute from WASD's blog,

"The biggest complaint about the V1 was the brightness of the LEDs. We switched over to a lower intensity red LED and made the LED holes only 1.5mm wide. The LED is recessed so the light is very subtle."
*
But then again, it's their money. Never try never know, once you've tried it you'll want it more. Apparently I never really liked it, unless it's 55g.

That's good, I see the LED holes as well, hopefully they're not shooting lasers again. thumbup.gif

Most of the MKB made by corsair, razer, logitech looks sexy.
but DAT price, just because it was categorized as a gaming pheriperals, doesn't mean you have to add RM100+ to its price tag.

Sexy =/= Price

Still sexy. : p

Smells like the typical leather shoes you see in parkson.

Looks nice, but the smell! icon_question.gif I hate the smell that comes out of a brand new mousepad, so I don't think I would like the smell of the leather.

But your imsto olivetti set on the other hand... looks sexy even though just see a bit only. brows.gif And that RGBY, is that the one I sold you? : p

Yeah, seen that already. I think there's been a discussion about this before. I think it's pretty sweet, it's 45g, which is cool. My sweet spot is at 55g tho.

Why, you want to try ah? : p

Don't think there's anyone that knows how to sleeve cables here.. I bought my cable from Paranoid, but I think Pexon's work is cleaner. Depends if your friend wants to wait that long. : D
