It's good to see docrambone back. He is one of the best and knowledgeable rom cooker back in SGS days.

Roms are nothing special really. Almost anyone can make roms hence so many floating around forum of devices that have been around for some time

What will be more important are mods like jkay/simplistic, kernels, themes etc.

I think maxis already have 1800mhz band for LTE. Its best you confirm with them. Just buy the correct korean version. LG Telecom version does not have 1800mhz support. The other 2 have.

if i installed a custom rom like wanamlite for example, would the the camera app crash problem still happen?

I'd say the most important is the kernel. Though many optimizations can be packaged into one custom rom, thus saving us time doing them manually.

Yes. It seems like nobody can confirm what causing it.

Chaton and other apps to lesser amount like facebook is waking up your phone alot. Please exit these app properly or reduce the amount of time they are set to sync.

Depends on why the camera crash.

I dunno about the technical thing.. but yes my S4 battery is draining too fast from the day 1 I used it. Not installed many apps yet, just the basic social app fb, instagram, wechat... haishh... charged before sleep at night, then at 4 or 5 pm, it will reached 25-20%... dunno if this is normal... (most of the time during office hour I will let the data ON, after office hour will connected using wifi...

last time im using iphone 4, then using desire v (dual sim), also both the data will be on/wifi connected most of the time, but at least, i will only need to charge it before sleep at night, not at the late evening like S4..

Nearly a week using it, 2 - 3 time self reboot, but using camera so far no prob... it just suddenly reboot without any warning...

really hope some update from samsung will resolve this...

oh btw, my S4 is still using old play store while my old htc desire V has been upgraded recently (without me doing anything).

I knew that we can download the APK files for playstore and install it manually, but is there any way to trigger the update for playstore so that it can be updated?

To be fair, sms issue is usually telco related.

There is no way, just download and install the apk since you already know you can do that. There is no difference with waiting or not waiting.

Chaton woke your phone up more than 5000 times. That is something major if you ask me. Maybe it was accidentally click on and running in the background or something like that.

damn... i never even open Chaton when i 1st open the phone, i see the background apps also no chaton le.. aduh..

Disable it and see if there is any more major batt drain.

kk forget can disable apps haha. what is ChatOn V? tat one cannot be disabled.

I dun think chaton or any of its family are important system app. So just disable them all.

Oh yeah btw, alot of people have reported wechat to be a major batt drainer.

Yup..I heard the same thing too..

i can access internet via wifi.

if turn off wifi i cant access via maxis.

did i missed something?
