New Home Minister says ensuring police welfare will be one his priorities
PETALING JAYA: Newly appointed Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he looked forward to his new responsibility and appealed to all parties to limit their differences for the sake of public safety and security.
He said he would need thorough input before making any decision on security matters, while he looked forward to cooperating with every head of department, especially with newly appointed Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
“Ensuring the welfare of police personnel will be one of my top priority.
“This portfolio is a huge responsibility but I vow to do my best for the sake of the rakyat,” he said.
