New Home Minister says ensuring police welfare will be one his priorities

PETALING JAYA: Newly appointed Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he looked forward to his new responsibility and appealed to all parties to limit their differences for the sake of public safety and security.

He said he would need thorough input before making any decision on security matters, while he looked forward to cooperating with every head of department, especially with newly appointed Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

“Ensuring the welfare of police personnel will be one of my top priority.

“This portfolio is a huge responsibility but I vow to do my best for the sake of the rakyat,” he said.

I would say yes. but only if there is a significant budget increase to support it.
not only operating cost we need to secure but also assets procurement for marine corp like the LHD or LPD.

sebenarnya, assets TDM tak mahal pun.
kalau dibandingkan ngan assets Navy.

apaches is on hold.
They might go for viper/cobra instead.

they indeed spending like a boss.

hmm. these is some interesting stuff.

I'm so envy sg navy Formidable class frigate.
such a sexy warship as usual.

It a small ship half the size of our SGPV.

I thought by having the biggest gun.

now days is more to information gathering and capabilities to share information would be no1.
precision strike and stealth capabilities would come after.

I would choose Meko CSL anytime.
but it will lots more expensive.
too bad german main kotor behind kena exposed.

tbh we don really need dokdo class.
LDP will be more beneficial for our fleet addition.
unless we really does have huge budget for our military then I dun mind having 1.

3 LDP + 6 escort ship.
would be ideal 1.

I prefer new kedah class to do it.
perhaps around 1800-2400tons displacement with good mid range SAMs and CIWS would be cool.

last time I heard they regret on buying 2nd warship.
expensive maintenance have been taking a huge hole in the budget.

hard to say.
but I would go for phalanx.
