Just a word of advice Thomas, for your hidden wardrobe, there will be a structure beam around one feet elevated from your master bedroom floor. Hence, your hidden wardrobe will be one feet higher than your bedroom.

Hah...!!!!
now i understand why one of our neighbour did the same extension one feet higher....

But is it possible to "alter" the beam... cos another neighbour actually made it flat....well.... not sure if doing so might disturb the house structure....

And thank you so much for the information..!!

Hi Guys,

Wanna ask how long does it take to finished the defect work usually?
I have submited my defect check list to Genesis in Jun and resubmit again in July since they haven't start any work yet. Last week call Genesis and they said im at 17th of the list but today became 21st. They claim that pending work because of hari raya but then hari raya just the 2 days off. Looks like someone is jumping q? Had waiting for 2 months and still waiting. Renovation work is pending now. Got house but can stay. Disappointed

Any Legian owners having problem with hollow floor tiles....???

My unit is like 20+ pcs hollow and now Ken is having problem to source for the same tiles for replacement. Worst case scenario is to replace "similar" colour....

is there any guidelines to justify "similar"...??

Hi Thomas, are you just renovate your back area only right? If so I think the approval is pretty easy, any feedback from MBSA side?
*
Hi Felix,

Major will be back extension to the max. I got to know that some contractors are able to do the application on behalf of the owners. But the contractor that i might engage doesnt provide this facility. Hence asking for help from owner with such experience.

Sorry to be still talking about Legian. Recently I observed plaster ceiling at my living hall is peeling off and I suspect it's due to very minor leaking somewhere. There's also a faint watermark stain at the wall just above main wooden front door.
I've called contractor in but they can't identify where the leak is from. Any owners experienced something similar in the past? Would be grateful for your insight. Thanks!

1. Ledge between master bedroom and toilet. Once I tried water pond up to this ledge level. And observed watermarks at plaster ceiling besides the living room.

2. Did u use the front porch rain water harvest tank? Take note that the floor at that area aren't water proof..... and that's directly above the main wooden door.... my unit once even soaked up my MCB. ...

Thanks Thomas for ur reply!

1. So does that mean I need to remove the wall and floor tiles of my masterbedroom toilet to apply water proofing?
Hi, so how was your situation so far?  So the point is here, we dont normally fill water above the ledge do we?  smile.gif Most to most we wash the toilet floor, but not soaking it up to this level. Well, its not mandatory to waterproof the floor over the bathroom ledge. Genesis actually redo my toilet waterproofing 2 or 3 times.

2. I use the front water harvest tank only occasionally. So probably water overflows from the tank spills onto the floor?
Any way I can stop rainwater from going into my tank? I dont use it that often anyway.

am not sure if the tank comes with ball valve. I reckon it would just overflow once its full. Anyway...... im removing both of my rain harvest tank. I'll feedback to you once i see the actual of it.

Thanks!

Guys,
Need some answers for the below:-

My unit is intemediate Legian unit.

1. If I were to reno my kitchen all the way to the back, I'll need an architect to do the drawing?
2. If question 1 is yes, then any of you have any contact for any architects?
3. And any contacts for electricians to do wiring?

TQ in advance

Intermediate unit can walk in to MBSA, buy a standard renovation booklet and fill up the particulars. The officer there are nice enuf to guide you all the way.
