so finally gamespot features Chrono Trigger as one of the greatest games of all time. forget all about final fantasy...this game is the All-Star produce!! Hironobu Sakaguchi + Yuji Horii + Akira Toriyama + Nobuo Uematsu all in one!!!

can u imagine like Hideo Kojima + Hideo Kojima + Peter Molyneux + Chris Taylor + Tim Schafer + Michel Ancel doing a game TOGETHER???

...just wondering will there be a Chrono 3?

i played it like 6 times oledi

can remember all the stuff to get

and how to unlock all the upgraded materials (esp after u got the epoch to open up sealed magic container)

magus is the best character inside

magus = vincent in FFVII. both of them have dark secrets

the stoopidest character? ROBO and FROGGIE. stoopid arse characters.

and the RPG was one of the first that has aweseome combo attacks and character combo attacks!

Nobuo Uematsu only make 20% of the music, the credit should goes to Yasunori Mitsuda . Ironically, Nobuo Uematsu signed on to the project to help Yasunori Mitsuda out after the latter contracted stomach ulcers.

Ouch! that gonna be hurt! shocking.gif

CT is the first ever RPG game I played in my life. I remember every bit of the game up till now!!! hahaha...whoever wants tips ask me, I'll try remember as far as I know.

By the way the character design is by Akira Toriyama, so that's why most characters resembles Dragon Ball character,

Chrono = Son Goku, with his spiky hairstyle
Luca = Looks like Arale from Dr Slump
Marle = Bulma
Frog = ......
Imps = Like those people from Planet Nameck
Ayla = Ranci (the girl whose personality change everytime she sneeze)

played it a few times and the one reason i played chrono cross. both have their own strength (and weakness) but gamespot's choice is right. chrono trigger is a wonderful game that i dont think many players (especially in malaysia) play...or even knew it. even i play it on the emulator.

nevertheless, even there will be another chrono series, i doubt it'll be as good as the predecessors unless the same 'dream team' that created series are back to the round table to develop the sequel. i vote, let this series as it is, rather than make a new one only to disappoint the fans.

yasunori mitsuda rocks! his songs is wonderful...

If you remember properly, the Frog WAS the wielder of the 'Masamune' right?

All Most Square games prove that wielders of Masamune's are special.. wink.gif Just like Sephiroth.

what? i thought they didn't complete the game, however they had a paper based RPG (book RPG) for it. neither of this are confirmed though because i only found it out in 1999. futhermore, i never found the rom, or any traces of the game except some news on it..

at that time, i was playing chrono cross.

that means...akira toriyama then. there's no mistaking it, but more importantly, did Sakaguchi developed it with the 'dream' team..the very same team that develop CT and CC. if it does, then i am seriously have to consider this game. still, i'll feel like a fool to buy xbox360 just for a game. however, i knew there are ppl out there bought PS2 just to play FF and MGS...so, it is not that odd aint it?

It is a little odd since every MGS and FF come out it is all big hit, while blue dragon is a totally fresh title, I think you should wait and see how blue dragon turn out to be

despite the ratings of course...but you're right, we'll just have to see how it will turn out when it release. with xbox360 is under pressure (in japan market), it'll be pretty sure that blue dragon will be the one of microsoft's trump card...

you can try suncomic (in sg wang). few years bank, i ordered CC soundtrack from a store at S&M but the last time i went there...it went out of business. nevertheless, it's old enough and i think even somebody is selling it, it wont be easy to find..

Radical Dreamers? I think they complete, but must download through SNES satellite download channel and only available in Japan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_Dreamers

Dunno how someone manage to find the game and dump it, then fangroups translate it. Of course laa, cannot discuss where to get it here because *ahem* is volatile nature. Can only say "Google is your friend" biggrin.gif

Anyways, I agree that Chrono Trigger is one rockin' game. I admit I oni play it on *ahem* (cousin introduce wan, but he borrow his cartridge from friend and return it very shortly). Wonder if they will re-release for GBA or DS.

Mr. Mod @ AsenDURE,

i cannot vouch for RAMChYLD or deepan84 cause i'm not familiar with their preivous console couch posts but i believe bidfordun should be in the clear.

ya, he loves to post short replies most of the time tongue.gif but he is actually one of them 100% original game supporter at nintendo subforums. he was trying to start a ebay bulk for original games at bulk section. his "u use ahem cd or ori one?" was more of asking if poster RAMChYLD wanted to find/search those old ps1 games in ori format from ebay.

RAMChYLD and deepan84 suspension revoked as it's too harsh but a warn is still issued.

As for bidfordun, this was a repeat offense so a warn + suspension (70hours to go.) is still in effect citing board rules.

QUOTE
Action: Discussion, distribution or posting links to pirated software, pornography or any kind of copyrighted materials.
Result: Offending post will be deleted and user will be warned. Repeat offenders will get a temporary suspension to their account.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=boardrules

thank your local mod mudmaniac and forumers andy_lhc & acougan for appealing for you.

as usual, to contest a staff's decision, PM one of the admin.

advise: next time just take the verbal warning.

You sure take your job seriously, thats good.

But there were so many passing mentions in so many countless threads that so many people were not suspended for.

Maybe a little bit of consistency will do you good.

the difference is:

1. someone reported and

2. i (among the other staff ) picked up the report from the report queue.

now look at my user profile Most active in or the general board subsection listing forum led by: moderator x and ask yourself - do I hang around console couch?

just like you, i hang out at my own favorite subforum and i only cross subforum when i get a ticket.

now the question to you is do you report posts offending rules when you mention that "lots of other post oso mentioned bout dis kinda stuff but no actions"?

I was made aware that someone reported and I do know that you do not hang out here often. In fact, I have only seen you twice so far. Once here and once in Nintendo thread.

It is the moderator's job to report offending posts. I, as a user, only has the responbility to keep my posts within the rules. Am I suppose to assume the responsibilities of a moderator or staff when I am not one?

But if you say that is what it takes, then by all means, I will make formal reports then.

incorrect.

if normal users were not meant to be given this ability then the report button would not appear beneath each post and clickable to all. there are many users that also helps keep this forum in order, acting beyond your perceived scope-of-forum-responsiblity by advising other member to edit their post, telling TS to close their threads due to inappropriaty of discussion, pointing to a similar thread, flagging off topic discussion, etc.

being a local mod does not just entail merely reporting offending posts, they have powers to delete, make invisible, move, tag, edit, close or open posts and thread within their autorized subforum. they also pick up tickets from users reports in the ticketing queue and act on them if it falls within their powers. i should know, i was a local mod before.

a staff is simply a moderator with warn-giving abilities and have control over all subforums. your local mod also have lives outside the forum (either full time jobs or study). your local mod doesn't lurk around 24 hours, so yes. we your need help in either self-censorship or reporting/advising other members to keep this part of the forum in particular, and the whole forum in general, in order.

now

of course the original one is better. the ps1 version suffers from lag of menus and stuff. SNES faster.

i like the game because the cause and effect feature...i remember the first time I regret doing things without thinking of the effect and it caused me during the trial happy.gif

Chrono Trigger is nice, but Chrono Cross is much much better game in terms of battle system and story.

I kinda thought Chrono Cross sucked hard.

I could speed-run Chrono Trigger over-and-over again within a day, 6-hours. (with new game+ of course)

Maybe it's just too tough for you?? Chrono Trigger is too easy...story too simple..but then again, it was an 8-bit console game, can't expect too much from that era. And why does anyone wants to replay RPGs over and over????? That's like watching repeat ASTRO show...LOL. I never replay any RPG except Final Fantasy tactics coz the battle system is too darn good. smile.gif

You didn't know Chrono Trigger had 12 different endings did you? Besides, why isn't not fun to play RPG's over and over again? (looks at people who want FF7 remake, and the people who love FF series so much)

And Chrono Trigger was well much longer than 6 hours, have you tried completing it within a day? Methinks not.

And Chrono Trigger was a 16-bit game, not an 8-bit. SNES, and not NES.

[Edit] And besides, I think most people here who have played Chrono Trigger during the early days were pretty much dissapointed with Chrono Cross. If CCross was the first you played, then of course, it would 'seem' better. I don't know, just a comparison from people who loved that game.

And like most/all RPGs, the hidden factor, Magus' hidden room with his best items, special 3-person tech-striker like Crono + Frog + Ayla. And oh, Rainbow sword beats Ultima.. haha

snes faster bcoz catridge has no load times or minimal load times compared to cd whre thre is long loadin times.. esp for ps1 which has inferior cd drive.. anyhow da ps1 version suffered alot of lag..
