BTR-80 and LAV-25 is one of the most used combat vehicle nowadays with major users all over the world conflict. BTR-80 for RM29.90 price is a good bargain as compare to Dragon or Easy Model. Hetzer - the little big gun on the battlefield. If Hitler had produce more of them rather then the more expensive one. Quantity will surely win the war.

guys, a question, if i may:

apart from CTC (which is more towards value), which is better in terms of details in 1/72 scale? Would it be Dragon Armor/Hobby Master/Easy Model? i do think that HM is kinda pricey, but i would be glad to have your inputs in this.

(if diecast/plastic ratio and price isn't a barrier)

p/s: and since CTC is nearing its end for us local collectors sad.gif

I had bought all 3 brands

The order of details + paint quality is:

1. DRAGON ARMOR (the best) icon_rolleyes.gif
2. HOBBYMASTER (has the most metal - very heavy stuff)
3. Easy Model - the most disappointing in paintwork vmad.gif

There is another brand - Forces of Valor 1/which I had not bought any yet blush.gif

But the most cheaper is Easy Model. tongue.gif

@Tiger I
Depend what you want actually.
For Easy Model, some of them good in detail, some are not.
If you can fulfill any model whatever quality, that would be Ok.
But if you are real serious collector and want all in real detail,
better choose Dragon Armor or HobbyMaster.

thank you guys for your inputs. i see that even in any forum that discussed about this (just found it lol), most will lean towards dragon armor as well.

dm101 i've read that fov isn't really towards details as they are made of more diecast materials, so some of the details might be lost/can't be reproduced as easily as plastic. sturdy, perharps, but not that detailed. but they have many variants of armor so to speak.

strikermac since we have been dwelling with ctc for quite a while, i longed for something with more details in minuscule size biggrin.gif

will go for dragon armor then smile.gif

I have almost all the brand in my collection. Below is my opinion.

1. Dragon Armor - Diecast. Best quality, very realistic, heavy and detail. Accurate scale down. worth for $$. Price RM60-RM150.

2. Warmaster - Diecast. Almost same quality like Dragon Armor. Detail and heavy. Price RM60-100. Worth for $$ too.

3. Hobby Master - Diecast. Very detail but lag of weather mark. Expensive, not worth for $$. Price RM100-250.

4. FOV - Diecast + resin. Toy feel. The build quality a bit deco stuff. Not realistic. Most of the tank come with mini soldier. Box very soft, no hard casing, easy damage. Price RM50-90. Some even come with diaroma.

5. Easy Model - Plastic, good in detail but very light. No hard casing. Soft box. Worth for $$. RM20-60 only.

Very good review and the price are very important for me to refer. Thanks blu3hamm3r.
Now I know why Dragon and Warmaster most people prefer.
And EM, you also recommend it. Thanks. notworthy.gif

Overrall i still prefer Dragon Armor, 50% of my collection from tis brand. I only have few Warmaster as they dont have much model to choose. I only have 3 Hobby Master which i grab it during sales. If not, i won't buy it due to too expensive. Easy model very cheap, worth to collect. Normally i buy from taobao, 1 time order at least 10-20 units to save the shipping cost.

For Easy Model, i normally buy with this 2 seller, friendly, trustable, fast delivery and lowest price in market.

Taobao Easy model seller

Diecast Tank 1/72 seller

thank you for your input too
i too find that hm is quite expensive, but i can't really see why
fov on the other hand, like stated by you, isn't realistic. i agree to this. the details and the looks of the product seems, urm, wonky, to say the least

now with three votes for dragon armor, i do think i would know what i should get after ctc is over biggrin.gif

Sharing my bad experience with Easy Model - my first and last set from this brand vmad.gif

The other side is still "acceptable"

If you go to eBAY and do a search, you will find many EASY MODEL pictures with visiible"defects" i.e. paint chip, gun/cannon minus elevation/drooping, etc.

Some tanks like the Char B1 don't look so bad. IMO, it's definitely better than the one from CTC. And since neither Dragon Armor nor Hobby Master have the B1 makes Easy Model all the more worth it. Just gotta be mindful of the rubber tracks though. In a few years they will somehow turn greasy and break off. Stored mine in a cool, dry place and well away from sunlight, but it seems that rubber material just doesn't last.

had the chance recently to see easy model up close
i don't really fancy them as long as other makers do make that particular tank
but damn maus is really intimidating even in 1/72 scale laugh.gif

and with regards to b1, at least ctc has that fancy love insignia tongue.gif

So far i didnt encounter this problem with my Easy model...may be i m lucky enuf....haha...any how. i feel the detail n quality is much more better than CTC and with RM20++ each price, we really cant demand so much. Quality come with higher price. blush.gif
