QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Oct 9 2014, 02:41 PM) Bought 4 fake xiaomi powerbank. Here are the indicators. 1)The build quality is not good. The button is not firm,Aluminum casing is low quality. 2)The packaging is white paper box,ori shud have plastic packaging 3)MIcro usb cable have xiaomi logo 4)When the usb and micro usb port is connected by a cable simultaneously, the led blinks. 5) when connected to a phone, the led automatically lights up But i got refunded. Due to cost saving measures, even the genuine units use a white cardboard box. BTW where did you buy your units?

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Oct 14 2014, 04:34 PM) any sifu hre know how to assembly redmi 1s battery become a power bank? i got a lot of 1s battery, purchase during redmi 1s accessories bundle plan, RM1/bundle. wondering can i pink up 10 battery or not to become a 20k pb. Parallel connection. Try a max of 10k first, since the battery itself already has a protection circuit. You may need to remove this to use the raw cell.

QUOTE(faidani @ Oct 16 2014, 09:42 AM) Dear xiaomi powerbank user, I wanna ask few questions. About the charging method for the powerbank, Do you discharge it completely or leave 1-2 bars behind? Example : leave the powerbank till no more juice then charge or charge it around 25% juice left? Can I charge it partially? Any tips for the care? In general you shouldn't drain lithium batteries. For the Mi pb, when it's at 1 bar, it will shut down if the voltage gets too low, to protect the batteries.

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Oct 23 2014, 03:42 PM) Any sideeffects to the battery or will this damage the battery? Since the input written is only 2A. An output of 2.4A means that is the max it can GIVE you. An input of 2A means that is the max it can TAKE. So no problem.

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Oct 25 2014, 03:06 PM) Higher mAh equals quicker charging time. Is my understanding correct ? Higher mAH is higher CAPACITY.... milliAmp Hours. mA is current. Higher capacity with low charging current = sh*t long charging time. USB at 450mA charging a 10,400mAH = 20 hours.

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Oct 25 2014, 08:35 PM) Sorry, but I am still a bit lost here. Say, I want to buy a powerbank; consider that all else being the same [e.g. brand, quality, size], which 1 is better - lower or higher mAH ? mAh is a measure of capacity. Higher mAh = higher capacity. The point is, higher capacity means it will take longer to recharge the powerbank. Note that reputable brands usually max out at 20,000 mAh and usually costs more than RM 250 for that capacity. Anything at a lower price is likely a fake.

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Oct 26 2014, 11:45 AM) But on the flip side, it can store more capacity, right ? Which means it can use it to charge appliances more than powerbank with lower mAh. Is my understanding correct ? A powerbank is designed for 5V output. Anything that runs on 5V should run on it.

QUOTE(when2meets2boy @ Oct 18 2015, 07:17 PM) Dear all, I need suggestions, what use do I have with salvaged 18650 type batteries recovered from powerbanks? TO all, I want to ask if anyone has come across a battery-adapter/controller for the 18650 type batteries that will enable me to control the output voltage (V) and current (aMh). I am planning to jig it up with my GoalZero setup, in case a zombie apocalypse strikes or the Red Shirts get's their way at messing up our country Thanks in advance. PS> It's sad Malaysia doesn't have a policy that recover and recycle batteries (all batteries are toxic if it leaks). Malaysians just throw it in the bin, that is so so so bad I believe the folks that fly RC planes have such devices, because they tend to run their 18650s or other LiPo type batteries is multiple configurations, meaning V and A all differ based on configuration of serial or parallel. I don't remember what the correct term but it's a smart regulator/charger device for LiPo batteries.

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Dec 15 2015, 02:30 PM) Bump. I seem to have a weird issue with my Xiaomi 10,400 mAH powerbank. It takes quite a long time to charge full, and when it does i leave it idle. After a few hours, still can charge, despite it being full from earlier. Plugged in an inline reader, found that quite a lot of mAH is going in.. Batteries dying?

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Dec 15 2015, 04:55 PM) idk man. if that's the case, i'll gladly open mine up and get some new 90000 mah 18650 There are 4 batteries inside. Typical genuine maximum mAh is about 3300 or maybe 3500 by Samsung, LG or Panasonic. Anything higher is strongly suspect.

QUOTE(Scissorshand @ Apr 2 2016, 02:11 PM) My Mi powerbank, they USB connector is screw, any where in KL or S Alam to repair it? Thanks If it's the 10k one, just get a new one since the labor to repair will cost a lot more than a new powerbank. However if you know how to solder stuff, the parts are dirt cheap. I have some USB connectors but unfortunately I don't have the time to fix it for you.

QUOTE(nordingh @ Aug 8 2016, 06:26 PM) 2 x DC 5.1V / 2A max 3.6A USB output, quick charging for emergency charging needs. - Support DC 5V / 2A, 9V / 2A, 12V / 1.5A quick recharging, it only needs 7 hours to be full charged, very time-saving for you. from what I read to recharge the powerbank itself only use QC. To charge phone use just normal 5V. Better get powerbank that have QC output like Aukey 16K. Thanks. I didn't realize it was input only.

Xiaomi powerbanks are good value for money.
Also worth to note that cable quality pays a part in charging output.
I normally test with a good know charger + cable combo and take a reading via Ampere or Galaxy Charging Current.
Then I test my new cables. Those that fail to meet the max ratings will be dumped or marked with the achieved rating for consideration about what I should do with it.

QUOTE(j45on @ Aug 17 2017, 05:29 PM) is the deal legit? i want to get 2. any reason why its that low? Edit: what's the difference with this one? It's twice more expensive as well http://www.lazada.com.my/xiaomi-original-m...0.0.lgWsm5&ff=1The more expensive one is the Pro version which charges via USB-C and supports quick charge both ways (I think it does). The cheaper one uses micro-USB and only supports output quick charge. IINM there is a newer version of both which support QC3.
