I honestly think the AK240 is easily beaten by the ZX2. That is why it was an easy decision for me to sell it even though the gold looked so good. 😍

worth it or not? --> depends on you; to me it is not worth as I cant afford and there are better options/alternative with that price of AK380

The closest China contestant is Lotoo Paw Gold, which is not cheap also (RM8xxx)

I like the MDR-1A that comes with it more. They don't sell it separately or I would have had it by now. But yes, love my ZX2

If you don't like the sound, how's it a good DAP? But anyway, wrong place for further discussion, suffice to say I think you're way off with that statement

A good DAP can mean good sound and details to your music preference or good amount of details for listening but not your taste.

To me, ZX2 is a good DAP, it has more details than my AK100II but sound signature is not my taste

If I don't like the sound, it doesn't mean it is an inferior DAP too

It is not that complicated lah, you like the sound but it needs to meet your satisfaction, e.g. instrument separation, clean background, recessed vocal, 3D soundstage etc

I'm a big fan of the AK/JHA Angie though, if that counts My set is my current daily driver. Very curious about the AKT8IE as well, hoping to demo it next month.

I tried AKT8i and AKT1p at Sungei Wang before, balanced and paired with AK380 + docking amp

to be honest, quite a far difference from what I know about beyerdynamics, I felt AKT8i lacks of something when I compared side by side with my SE846, most likely it is vocal lah. But its instrument presentation does impress me.

BTW, I am not a fan of JH, especially Roxxane , but I can accept the sound from Angie and Layla

I suggest you try Adel A12, probably you would have same first impression as me: "Am I listening to headphone?"

I liked the Angie more than the Layla when I tried it, so... But yes, will demo the AKT8IE sometime, it's on my to-do list. As for the ADEL, 64 Ears are supposed to release a new ADEL module that will isolate sound much better, with the open style soundstage you can get currently, will wait for that before I try. No hurry, K10 also only arriving next month.
