If dead pixel, hopefully u r still on warranty, send back to Apple to get it rectified.. I saw replacement battery for sale at Apple Mid Valley.. price 200++.. not sure whether DIY or they do for u.. My battery life 12 hrs approximate.. but I took the necessary measures.. no equaliser, screen brightness minimum, less fast fwd.. not sure the performance on the color iPods.. mine monochrome 4th gen

erm, actually the warranty's over...

anyway, about the battery replacement thingy. lets say i send my unit to apple mid valley, do they just replace the batt on the spot or do i have to wait for a few days (or weeks) to get my unit back?

haih, cant live without my ipod... cry.gif

Nah, can't be dead pixels... Must be some problem with the screen itself...

Wow, that is gonna burn one heck of a large hole in the pocket!

This shows that iPod owners had better be careful with their pride-and-joy, that's for sure!

back here, when i saw someone with ipod..

the few things that came into my mind:

-selfish, leave-me-alone person, i-dont-want-to be-disturbed
-show-off (especially those with nano and lanyard around the neck to tell the world)
-sucxer for the snatch thief
-distractions (i personally know a friend who use ipod while riding motorbike and several times saw people use the white earbud while driving-why? no idea, probably their car stereo broken)

but personally, the advantages of having a portable 40GB jukebox/hdd far outweights the dis-....

Hey, the fourth item suits me! Interesting point here is that i tend to concentrate MORE on the road when i have my iPod playing music and headphones stuck to my ear... At least i won't be disturbed (back to the first item!) and can then focus concentration on the driving...

Anyway, the radio stations sometimes play sucky music so no choice but to turn on the Pod... biggrin.gif

Hey guys, I've a question. Didn't feel like there was a need to open a new thread, so I'm just gonna ask here. Hope y'all don't mind smile.gif

I just got my 4th gen today and after I registered it online, I checked the warranty status. It says that it was bought sometime in April 2005. The thing is, the set is supposed to be brand new. So my question is, how long do they take to update that I've only registered it today? Or is there something wrong with my set?

Second question is, there's like something on my screen. But it's on the INSIDE. Like a spec of dust. It's really annoying to see it there everytime I look at the screen. So is it possible to get them to fix it?

Thanks yeah smile.gif

ohmy.gif please get an adapter or itrip, don't drive with your ear stuffed.

had adviced my fren who use ipod while driving his motorbike. he argued against it, and i decide not to further the disagreement.
about a week later, he hit the back of a car, and broke his leg. while using ipod. rclxub.gif

for me, ipod headphone in your ear is another source of distraction.

i sounded like your mum, ehhh? biggrin.gif

You sure are judgmental. Why can't he/she be someone who actually enjoys music on the go? And I don't see how wearing an iPod is showing off, after all it's only a 400-dollar device, what's there to show off?

dude, we are talking about the disadvantage of ipod, right?

as someone who owns an ipod, i could probably list all the advantages...
but again, the topic is about the disadvantages, right?

edit: i've decide to take out what i believe would escalate things.
y'all, have fun. this is only a forum. not a name-calling playground.

Hahaha, i know what u mean, buddy! laugh.gif

But seriously, even though i have my iPod stuck on my ears, i have the volume low enough for me to hear the surrounding noises even though the music is also being played... And seriously, my concentration increases on the road because of that (my mind is focused on the driving whilst listening to music, thereby reducing the need to look left-right instead)!
