QUOTE(Silverfire @ Apr 27 2013, 11:19 PM) LED light, i use it to illuminate the path when I move around :SQUOTE(teetaatee @ Apr 27 2013, 11:41 PM) best if no cloud, but sometime a little bit of cloud will be interesting as well... very much depend on your composition... if you ask me, light pollution is more problematic than cloud... :S |

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Apr 29 2013, 03:41 PM) V2 lah ! V1 is rm1600 like that... i only tried the v1 before... I prefer the color rendition from 12-24 nikkor go check DXO mark and the others lo... the 11-16 really good lah comapre to the 12-24 and 10-24... unless u wanna go for the 14-24 check out DXO mark http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Lenses/Co...r/(camera3)/440 if u really say u dont trust DXO mark, then i oso duno what reference can give u d @@ the only benefit from the tokki 11-16 is the 2.8 QUOTE(teetaatee @ Apr 29 2013, 03:56 PM) best is totally dark until you cant see your own finger without a torch light, and the line of sight to your shooting direction as low light as possible. the place where I shot the photo, i can only see shape of my hand barely. |

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Apr 29 2013, 08:27 PM) IMO color rendition is abit moot if you PP alot. i mainly used it on D7000 with video... not much things can do to the color grading :SRead some tests about the new coatings, not much difference, flare is one of Tokina's weakness, and it's still there in V2 unfortunately. that's why prefer 12-24 ways better |

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Apr 29 2013, 09:22 PM) if you shoot in RAW, there are more latitude to 'process' video is pretty much highly compressed jpegs but then, if you can afford, just go for the 12-24 nikkor. better in every aspect in general use. |

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Apr 29 2013, 10:04 PM) the 12-24 is priced waaaaaaaay out of budget for most people including me one of the most expensive DX lens till date... the craziest one is 17-55 RM3500 vs RM1800(tokina V1) gets you better build quality and color and some additional perks which is not worth it for people looking just for the perspective a wide angle can give like me. Besides, 11mm and 12mm is very noticeable when compared side by side, even more so with sigma's 10mm starting point, cheaper too. QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Apr 29 2013, 10:53 PM) Really? That's bad then my wife use V1 to shoot milkyway... lolThe V1 is really simplistic compared to the V2, no mode dial, no built in flash, no command dial (has a lever for aperture/SS but meh, I like dials Looking for the SB-N5, but at the price i was quoted, its HALF of the price of the V1 leh, too bad no third party alternatives Here's a shot I took today using the V1, PP and cropped in lightroom. ![]() V1 + 10/2.8 distortion corrected using LR profile. photo downloaded off FB and reposted* |

Here's a good and VERY easy to understand guide by my friend, Milan Teh on how to shoot Milky Way... http://www.milanteh.com/2012-05/milkyway
You don't need super expensive tools to shoot one, but you will surely need to survive thousands of mosquito bites and numerous sleepless nights. Most of my stars/milky ways/constellation photos can be seen here... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1...=1&l=e277e46c04 This post has been edited by Maniac: Apr 30 2013, 12:08 PM |

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ May 2 2013, 10:29 AM) AF-C heheh me too and 3D mode is my fav mode of all! 99% usage Works fine in most situation! Making focus and recompose so much easier! AF-C + 3D makes my life easier for general shoots with moving subject or recomposing.. I uses AF-S + Auto Area for the rest of the time though... |
