My 2 cents

Liverpool Faithful..
No 1 is Deemed Unperformable If The Manager X Play Him
- Carroll Has not been disappointing whenever he's on the pitch in our RED Jersey.
- U guys can Hate him..Deem him as a Flop.
- But Spending 35mil for him & not playing him & utilizing his potential is kind of stupid.
- Nowadays u can't buy CL striker for 15mil.
- Even Michu cost 20mil.
- Y do we need to sell him when we can't break team down teams with our so called tiki-tika football?
- He is Good in the Air/Sweet Left Foot/Pacey for his Height/Played with Strenght.
I've been an admirer of Carroll all this while but I do not think he is a CL quality striker. I think he is a good option to have though because the EPL is a physical league and having a battering ram up front is useful. Even in Europe, his aerial prowess will be effective against continental teams who do field smaller centrebacks, Barcelona being a case in point. One needs to remember that it wasn't BR who signed him and there isn't a point in forcing him into the team if he doesn't suit BR's needs. Chelsea spent big on Sheva and Torres because Abramovich decided to and look what happened when they were forced to play in a system that suited neither.
Football today isn't as direct though. Smaller centrebacks are quicker and more mobile allowing teams to play a high line, effectively nullifying the threat of big lumbering centreforwards. They become useful then only during setpieces e.g. Stoke. Carroll needs to work on his movement if he is to adapt to a more continental brand of football. If you look at the top sides, not many field traditional English type centreforwards. If they are big, they are also mobile.

We r just not able to crack "Top" side in the league.
- Suarez can't play all by himself
- Neither can't Sturridge
We only signed Sturridge in the 2nd half of the season. Prior to that, Suarez was doing a pretty decent job at scoring by himself. Also, I think we're looking at formations too literally. Suarez may have often been the only recognised striker on paper but the likes of Downing, Sterling, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey have all been urged to get into the box to support him.

Every good team need 4 Top Strikers On Their Side
United @ Rooney/Welbech/RVP/Hernandez
City @ Tevez/Dzeko/Aguero/Balotelli(Half Season)
Chelsea @ Torres/Demba Ba but got Mata/Oscar/Hazard/Moses/Piazon supporting
Liverpool @ Suarez/Strurridge/Borini suportted by..
- Downing (Rarely Score)
- Sterling (Not Contributing)
- Suso (Not been playing)
- Shelvey (Disappointing)
Only Coutinho Flourished...
FYI..BR only make 2 changes mostly same guys when we r losing & drawing..Dam. This call giving others to sit on beach only.
Assaidi & Suso both r techically good yet not given to play..
Now u see the different between us and the others?
We just need added Quality into the squad not selling another asset in "Carroll" to others when he till around 24 or so. Dam.
Cheers.
Chris.
One stark difference is this. We've been giving ample playing time to young, untested players at the highest level. I say this is good exposure. It is a gamble of course but I'm all for developing young players. We have the youngest squad in the league on average. We have potential. Yes, we aren't at the level some of the top clubs are but we are getting there. The young lads have largely flourished and this includes Sturridge and Countinho.
Inconsistency has been our biggest rival in recent years and I think that the best way to battle against it, is through perseverance. Changing the team up every season often holds back progress, unless we're bringing in the best players in the world, which we cannot afford at the moment. I say persist with the young lads and see them blossom.
