QUOTE(mazaziman @ Apr 23 2013, 12:10 PM)
sorry for disturbing you guys. i've asked a seller what the differences between AP set and SME set for note 2. the seller said, the only differences are warranty, firmware and of course the price.

about the firmware, the seller said, an AP unit will have firmware of a country or region where did the phone comes. an SME unit have firmware set for our country and region.

so, if i buy an AP set, can i reset it with firmware that SME unit using? thanks. and, will it void warranty?

QUOTE(kl920930 @ Apr 23 2013, 01:01 PM)
sme got 1 guy in forum selling 1650 only. bought mine few days ago. he say next week will restock
*
See post 4 under scams. Hopefully 1650 is not counterfeit. Brotan, one of our recommended sellers who sells batteries, says he has seen many customers with counterfeits who paid around that price for a "Note 2".

QUOTE(hooh888 @ Apr 23 2013, 12:29 PM)
i know how to go into recovery mode, just that i never go there before and don't know what's there. and besides, i only want to do backup now, which won't brick my phone. or maybe i am just too dumb to you that i would somehow miraculously brick my phone while doing backup. and either way, thanks for your instructions 'O Wise One.
*
Well the point of this forum is more of being a community, and we are not devs or hackers, although a lot of effort is made to respond to postings here. Page 1 contains info and links relevant to this device and where to find additional information. Most of the technical stuff links to XDA because that is the world's largest community for this sort of thing.

Uncle benny rarely gets annoyed and he has been kindly answering everyone in the LYN Android forums even though some people don't deserve any response.

Do please make an effort to educate yourselves for your own betterment. No malice meant.

UPDATE: All, so now that the Note 2 price has reduced enough, there seems to be a next wave of adopters coming in rclxms.gif

Like I said, no malice meant, just read up more and contribute.

Unfortunately some political figure said that free education won't help the country hmm.gif whistling.gif

Anyway, added a Recovery section to post 7 and also a link to how to make your own pre-rooted ROM in post 8. Doesn't sound to difficult if you have a linux box.

It is linux based, and a full fledged OS. Probably the same like what you'll see starting up Windows or Linux task managers.

Maybe you can get one of those Russian secure customised Androids made by the Russian miliary whistling.gif or maybe Aliyun and see what goes on.

How about this?
Still waiting if anyone saw a good deal for new NoteII? I've been browsing around the web. The best deal actual by our trade enforcer Apis_LuaLua but due to too many thinking I lost the deal. He is selling new noteII for RM16xx. Just RM100 difference from my budget on SS15 shop which selling AP set for RM1555.

Ok stays within the page border. Check with dannygeni or look around a bit. Sometimes, if you already know enough, then act rather than think more tongue.gif

High Performance
Cortex-A devices provide a scalable range of power-efficient performance points for their target applications. Some illustrative examples are:
  • Cortex-A15 highest performance solutions for next generation mobile and demanding wireless infrastructure applications
  • Cortex-A7 implementations in standalone, multi-core configurations delivering 800 MHz - 1.2 GHz typical frequency, or in combination with Cortex-A15 for big.LITTLE processing
  • Cortex-A9 implementations delivering 800 MHz - 2 GHz typical frequency and delivering 5000 DMIPS of performance per core
  • Cortex-A8 single-core solutions that provide cost-effective high-performance from 600 MHz - 1 GHz delivering over 2000 DMIPs of performance
  • Cortex-A5 in low-cost implementations from 400- 800 MHz delivering over 1200 DMIPS of performance
Multicore Technology
The Cortex-A5, Cortex-A7, Cortex-A9 and Cortex-A15 processors support ARM's second-generation multicore technologies
  • Single to quad-core implementation for performance orientated applications
  • Supports symmetric and asymmetric OS implementations
  • Coherency throughout the processor exported to system via Accelerator Coherency Port (ACP)
The Cortex-A7 and Cortex-A15 extend multi-core coherence beyond the 1~4 core cluster with AMBA4 ACE (AMBA Coherency Extension)

And this shows the Instruction set used:

If it is flashed via Kies, and still modified, then you probably have to reboot a few times. Happens to some occasionally. Nobody knows why.
