EA always like to takeover companies which make good games. Never like them czo they like to monopolize. Just like when Westwood release Dune 2 (the mother & pioneer of all RTS game), EA decided to buy it. Then when Bullfrog did well with theme park games, EA bought the company. Truth to be told I never like the EA sports annual release series. Not much of new updates and yet they release it annually just to sell, sell & sell.

Taken from wikipedia
EA is often criticized for buying smaller development studios primarily for their intellectual property assets, and then making the developers produce run-of-the-mill games on these same franchises. For example, Origin-produced Ultima VIII: Pagan and Ultima IX: Ascension were developed quickly under EA's ownership, and these two are considered by many as not up to the standard of the rest of the series, being aimed at lowest common denominator audience. Productions from EA owned studios as of late have generally not been known for their originality.

EA is also criticized for shutting down its acquired studios after a poorly performing game. Many see EA's control and direction as being primarily responsible for the game's failure rather than the studio. Magic Carpet 2 was rushed to completion over the objections of designer Peter Molyneux and it shipped during the holiday season with several major bugs. Studios such as Origin, Westwood Studios, and Bullfrog had previously produced games attracting a significant fanbase, and when they were closed down many top designers and programmers refused to stay with EA and formed rival studios. EA has also received harsh fire from labour groups for their dismissals of large groups of employees during the closure of a studio. Such was the case with the game GoldenEye: Rogue Agent.

EA is also notorious for the practice of rushing out products, setting extremely short deadlines and emphasizing good graphics to compensate for the lack of gameplay aspects originally intended by many developers, not implemented due to lack of time. Titles such as the Battlefield games are under this category as there are complaints of laggy online play.

After releasing many semi-finished products, the lack of support is notable in many games, assured by the fact that EA declared openly that they would no longer support relatively new but still buggy titles, like Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Underground and some of the latest Command and Conquer games.

Electronic Arts announced it would not support the Sega Dreamcast unless it sold 1 million units. When this happened within a record 90 days, EA went back on their word and declined to support the Dreamcast in favour of Sony's PlayStation 2.

EA has also been criticized for other aggressive business methods like the acquisition of 19.9 percent of shares of their competitor Ubisoft in what was called a "hostile act" by Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot.

And this is an uncyclopedia for EA:

QUOTE

Slogans
"EA games half-ass everything"
"EA games buy out everyone"
"EA games f*** up everything"
"EA games dont challenge anything"
"EA, Electronic Asses"
"EA gayme's gobbles anything"
"EA games patch everything"
"EA SUCKS it's in the game"
"EA SPORTS it's f***ing the game"
"EA games, Give games spyware for more money"

Electronic Arts is a gaming company that is famous for putting its players "in the game", especially in their famous lines of sports games. Whatever sport you dream of competing in, EA is your ticket out of the stands and onto that court, that ice, that ring, that field, that... um court, and... yeah. Just fire one of their many games up and you will feel like you are right there in the stadium. That is, if you go to sporting events where the public address announcer welcomes you, and then the venue takes a gigantic shit on your head. f*** you EA! As John Madden would say, "That EA programmer, there's a guy that when he says the game is working is really just a lying douche."

Electronic Arts (Better known as "EgAy") is the English-language name given to a carnivorous beast which currently resides in Redwood City, California.

The Beast, colloquially known as 'EA', has been known for feeding on the staff of independent software development houses, only to later vomit out sub-par revised editions of previously successful game franchises. This cycle, known as the 'Madden effect', is observed on a precisely annual basis. Crowds often cup their hands in front of the beast in order to catch some of its vomit. In some of the more retarded mainstream Western cultures, it is good luck to be the recipient of a revised Madden game. In many more cultures, it is not.

In 2006 the EA beast was revealed to be the whiny little b**** who killed E3. It seems that they were upset that they didn't have anything to show that wasn't complete shit, and decided to wreck everything for everyone by making E3 no fun (just like their games, ZING) so that the

I wonder how long will it take till EA buys out CRYTEK(after the release of Crysis or before?) or will the owners have guts to stop them.

Anyway, why suddenly all the EA bashing? Did one of your EA game crash or stop working suddenly? sweat.gif

I'm sure most of you will end up playing C&C 3 in the end. smile.gif

Yeah, it's not a prob EA absorb all other game company, btu what pissed us off is: (not all but majority) Command and Conquer: Generals. EA buy other company and produce their game: In a shitty way. So this C&C 3 is a chance for EA to win back C&C's fans's heart.

Practically none. The only original Westwood guy from way back still with EA is Louie Castle. The thing is he doesn't make games anymore, EA promoted him to a cushy position as the head of EALA(the studio in charge of C&C and MOH franchises).

Vorador is right, C&C 3 will make or break this classic franchise.
