hrmm. makes me think what compares to the carrier. of course i'm not expecting every unit to have an equivalent. biggrin.gif

i found the avatar to be pricey, cost 3000 to build yet it lacks AA and if you compare to a mammoth tank i'd say mammoth tank wins hands down on overall.

i wonder if the patch 1.03 has lowered the price of avatar (which i heard they plan to).

the nice thing about avatar is the tactical usage, however despite the great tactics shown in the DVD - i find that when i play multiplayer vs comps, it's all a matter of surviving and attacking with brute force. smile.gif i guess those tactics are better off vs humans or in game.

i finished GDI and haven't figured out how to move in formation.

Should be the same, though from what I read in the previous pages it does not support integrated graphics card on laptops....

C&C3 works for me on my laptop with X1150 though it's just barely playable.

To move in formation select the units you want and press and hold both mouse buttons and you can see the 'ghost' formation. Then just , move the mouse while holding the both buttons and you'll see the various formations that are available.

How do you counter 9 mammoth tanks with rail guns?
I was playing multiplayer last night. I had like 12 scorpions, 6- 7 avatars, 5 beam tank and 7 - 8 stealth tanks.. I lured the mammoth tank into my cresent formation of tanks + avatars, and attempted to flank with stealth tanks and also sent in some bombers. My army was anniliathed in 3 minutes with 2 - 3 mammoth tanks dead. I tried to focus fire but it takes too long to kill a mammoth tank before it killed my army. The mammoth tank was doing spread fire (killed my scorpion tanks c/w lasers in 2 hits). The only reason he pulled back was because my ally countered him. Any input on how to deal with mammoth tank spam? There must be a way for nod right? Using the suicide bombers? Or spamming vertigo bombers?

how about upgrading your avatars to dual beams? sacrifice a beam tank but at least you get to last longer. you know how fast beam tanks can die.

also i think you should try a few stuff like
1. obelisk + beam tank
2. beam tank + venom
3. 8 vertigo bombers, allocated 4 for each mammoth. for each striker, choose to attack the mammoth with greatest HP while the ground units focus on the ones with lesser HP.

hold both LMB and RMB on the ground and move your mouse up/down, and you'll see faded units of yours according to what formation you want. they will move according to the speed of the slowest unit as well
