Hey guys, proud new owner of the N4 here. Everything about this phone is perfect. Holding off rooting for now though, since there's a high possibility Key Lime Pie is going to be announced at the Google I/O in 3 weeks (fingers crossed!).

On a sidenote, I also highly recommend this case if anyone is looking for one: http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-hybrid-fusion-case

I have it on my N4. Nice fit, while giving good protection and letting you see the back of the phone. biggrin.gif

The buttons' feedback is a big no no for me. laugh.gif
*
That was an issue with the earlier batch it seems. I got the latest batch, the buttons are crazy tactile! They definitely redesigned the buttons, it's been confirmed by people on other forums who ordered the latest batch from Rearth. biggrin.gif

Serious? I thought they claimed that they won't be making any modification? It's nice to know that they changed!

How about the water spot issue on back?
*
Not sure about them saying that, but I'm VERY sure that the tactile feedback I'm getting from the buttons is definitely a redesign. According to earlier complaints, they can't feel any feedback at all, I'm getting plenty feedback! I also had a very minimal rainbow effect on the back, but that was because of moisture that was trapped inside and the fact that I had a screen protector on the back as well. Took out the case and wiped everything, the rainbow effect went away.

Bro would you mind to take a picture of your phone with the cover? I wanna see how it protects the front side. I'm planning to get this case too. Good shock absorption?
*
I can't tell you about the protection because I'm not going to drop my N4 and test it out, haha. But what I can feel is that the rubber for the case is slightly harder than that you find on normal TPU cases. Being harder, I don't think it would absorb as much impact as TPU cases. It would protect the phone fine for most drops, but for really high drops (head level) I guess you have to keep your fingers crossed. Anyway, here are a few pics:

Guys do u know if the new nexus 4 design update has arrive in malaysia? Does it make huge difference?

*
Yes, the new design update is in Malaysia. I have that camera placement and those 2 'nipples' on the back of my phone. Not sure how much of a difference it makes though.

Oh so the kernel that changes the signal color.I thought grey color means there is no signal but I can see the bar
*
My mobile and wifi signal logos go grey at times when there aren't any apps accessing it. But as soon as i open up any app, it changes to blue. This isn't always the case though, it's blue around 70% of the time. Fully stock kernel and rom.

Just last week man, from DirectD. You can find their thread in the Garage Sales section. Not sure if LG Malaysia has brought in the updated design model though, it's best you check that with someone else if you're interested in getting it from LG. biggrin.gif

my phone couldn't detect my sim card no matter how. =.=

guess it's time for me to send it back for warranty purpose. Sigh.
*
Was your sim card cut to micro sim? I had this same problem, the signal would suddenly go off and the phone will say that there is no sim card detected. Found out it was because the sim card was cut slightly smaller and it kept losing contact in the sim card tray. Seems to be a common problem with the N4 and cut micro sim cards. Did some DIY and inserted a small piece of paper between the gaps in the sim tray, and it's been working perfectly since! biggrin.gif

mine is in the perfect place though. how you insert the paper?
*
Took an hour of trial and error for me to get the paper placement right, so I'd recommend you keep that as your last resort. If your sim card was cut to micro sim, go back to the telco and ask them for a new micro sim and see if that works.

Was yours couldn't be detected at all? Tried your method and insert a small piece of paper in front of the tray Before putting the sim card back on it.

And surprisingly, it worked. @@ previously I dropped my phone with my very thick case and I thought somehow the simcard tray was destroyed but now, it seems fine. Will monitor it for a few daysand see.

Thanks. laugh.gif

Glad to hear that it worked! Mine was fine when I got it, but on the second and third day after getting the phone it kept having that problem. I realized it happens when I turn the phone really fast to landscape or if any bumps in general happen.

Most forums recommended a warranty, but I was too lazy and decided to DIY. Rather have a small piece of paper in the SIM instead of losing my phone to warranty for a few days/weeks! This fix has been working fine for me over 2 weeks, hopefully it permanently fixes the problem for you too.

Cheers!

Anyone using Benks HSR screen protector?
*
I am! Loving it, definitely the best screen protector I've had. Feels nice to the touch, doesn't ruin the beauty of the screen and minimal fingerprints.

Nice, how does it feel? Matte or normal clear type? If its matte, does it look blurry? Thanks for replying to me  notworthy.gif
*
It feels like a clear type. No screen blurriness at all. Minimal to no fingerprints, even if there is its much easier to wipe off compared with normal clear types. Perfect combo of matte and clear screen protector advantages. biggrin.gif

Try SuperBeam. It uses wifi direct to transfer files. It is much much faster than Bluetooth, very useful if you need to transfer large files like videos between devices. Both devices need the app installed though. Tried with Xperia Z, S3, S4

+1

SuperBeam works amazingly well to transfer large files, much faster than the stock NFC beam. One slight problem though, sometimes it just doesn't want to connect to certain devices. Not exactly a foolproof method to transfer large files, but a better one than the stock NFC beam.
