Link merging into the wall is soo cool!!

QUOTE
Nintendo has announced a new Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past game for 3DS. Announced during Nintendo Direct, it is set in the same world as the classic SNES adventure. The release date for this new Zelda 3DS adventure is scheduled for the end of the year

The game is set in the same world as Link To The Past but features new dungeons and an original story.

Announcing the game Satoru Shibata said: "We are currently developing a new game with a new storyline that will take place in the same game world for Nintendo 3DS. What we want to achieve with this new Zelda game is to reinvigorate the flat 2D world of A Link To The Past with the sense of height and volume using the three-dimensional display of Nintendo 3DS.

"With it, it's easier to differentiate levels in the environment and we can truly utilise height differences in dungeons as a puzzle-solving mechanic."

Shibata also introduced a new feature in which Link can become a drawing and move within walls. By moving in the walls your viewpoint changes and you can see the connections within the area you are in that you couldn't observe before. This new mechanic will play a key role in solving puzzles in the game.

Perhaps it's not such a great surprise to see Nintendo return to the world of Link To The past. Miyamoto has in the past talked of his desire to see Link To The Past on 3DS. Last year he told Edge: "I'd be even more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link To The Past. I think it's important to bring some really new software."

Eh the gameplay feels like super mario than zelda to me. And the ability to turn into drawing / painting looks a bit odd too (super paper mario?).

But im pretty sure it will turn out to be a great game anyway! smile.gif

this definitely gonna be my #1 game on 3DS
it's just so fun to play, visual also very stunning
3D is great too, popping up, none of the 3D issues like encountered in OoT, since this is just a top down view

was trying out last night during while waiting for my show to start on tele, and unknowingly, I played thru the whole show with the tv on, while my eyes and minds are actually on the 3DS

oh yeah, there're quite a few easter eggs from the past Zelda game
you can even "wear" the majora's mask tongue.gif

I reached Lorule already, and have rescued one of the Seven Sages.

I'm a Zelda newbie and I've no idea where I'm going, until I realized I'm in one of the dungeons already, haha.

If you've reached Lorule:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

If not, then just try to avoid them, and keep hitting them non stop (better if you corner them) until they die.

Entering Hera Tower now...

playing it slowly, this is one of those rare games that I don't want it to end so fast

Hehe... I'm taking my sweet time unlocking and discovering the easter eggs. Spending more time finding the Mia Mia babies than in dungeons. Haha... Saved 3 sages so far and in the fourth dungeon on the mountain in top right of the map. Fought 2 shadow links yesterday. 1 win and 1 K.O. XD Good fight though... happy.gif

The game is so nostalgic and fun to play. Until not even bother to check LYN forum. Just saved 3 sages, 49 Maimai baby and upgraded my master sword and armor. So fun until I dun want to finish it too fast. Kalos region need to put aside first. Haha

actually I love it where you can obtain most of the gadgets early in the game, and you can do most of the dungeon in any sequence you like

buying stuff is easy, since ruby farming is a lot more easier this time wink.gif

Yeah, it is a lot easier this time, I can get 1k rupee easily..

But the point is, maybe my own preference, I think it is better to obtain them from dungeon where you explored and use the items with purpose..

Of course it is like follow the straight storyline from one dungeon to another.
Gameplay is very dynamic this time lol..

u don't need to pay the first game to enjoy this.. all zelda games can stand on it's own, all have different themes while maintaining all the solid framework of a good action rpg smile.gif

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm likely to purchase it tomorrow. Another thing is, it certainly look real simple like it was made for kids. I hope you guys tell me I'm wrong

I just got it. I'm not used to not being able to save anywhere. Let's say if I don't quit at the pause menu, and click the home button and exit. If i start the game back will I start at where I quit or at the last saved?

the 'quit' at the pause screen leads you to the main menu of the game (that Triforce animation opening, press 'A', choose savefiles)

At first I thought I got all the pieces but I went to check each place individually and found a couple.

Finished the game in 19 hours with everything pretty much upgraded.
Awesome Zelda game, probably one of my favourites.
Did a 9 hour marathon today and finished it.
Thanks to Wind Waker HD I put this game on hold for a while.
Definitely will play Hero Mode next time.
Now off to either Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess... smile.gif
