Good wish you have there . My son's unit went SDS on its 10th month and motherboard replace FOC within 2 working days. Actually Samsung should honour this problem even if warranty expired as is their fault that it exists

Don't you think is cheaper to pay n replace motherboard than buying a new phone???
Or you looking for an excuse to change phone!!!

And I just read your long essay - but i wish to disagree with you on S3, S4 observation of yours. I never faced those issues that you mentioned
My S4 is excellent - till today NOT a single reboot issue . I find it much smoother than HTC One (( it is slight jerky especially blinkfeeds) but loses out to Xperia Z. Your standard of smoothness is definitely different from mine probably as I remember you did mentioned you are very particular on this.
I also , like you have use a wide variety of phones and honestly I cannot yet say which is the best phone as each has its pro n cons
As long as my needs are met I am willing to accept whatever cons it has

Not me lah. My camera never restart until now. It is performing well. You have mistaken it as someone else or you have misinterpreted my post commenting on another. I did say it is probably the newer firmware causing these restart as I am still on original firmware. I have rooted phone and unable to update OTA on it
Anyway I bought the S4 just to test - always believe in self test and not read other experiences. Will pass it down to some one else once i get bored with it. I have zero problems with it and I'd say is better than my previous S3. I dont plan to use it as my main phone. My main phone now is Pantech Vega No6 - mainly cos of its bigger 5.9 inch full HD display

And what is the purpose to " shoot gao gao" - self satisfaction ??? To me it serve no purpose

Whatever you might not like in Samsung, it will continue to be a bestseller and no matter how hard the critics are on them, they will still pursue their present design signatures and I believe will probably also load the Note 3 with tons of useless gimmicky stuffs. I will still buy the Note3 to test ( especially if it comes with a 5.9 inch display) . If I don't like it I will sell it off. I will just comment my unhappiness what I found ( I have comments unfavorably too on S4 too especially on its added software stuffs) and will stop commenting further once I made my opinions known . Whatever I am not happy , others will probably find it a non issue as their needs are/could be different from mine

I have even put comparison benchmarks with Note 2
I am quite happy with the phone and I do expect some of its shortfall before buying it. Anyway it has now replaced my Note 2 as my main phone
I am sure you will not like it as smoothness by default loses out to Note2 but matches it when I replace the default home launcher with Nova.

Based on my experience, I can say is quite safe to use 2.1A charger with the S3 but 3A I had never tested before
I always use my ipad USB enabled ( 2.1A) charger to charge all my phones , be it Samsung, Sony, HTC, iphone. Phone original charger I rarely used except to test the charging time against some other users feedback. 99% of my phones all the charger, cable always intact inside box. I have been warned is a dangerous practice using a 2.1A on phones that are by default supplied with 1A, 1.3A,1.5A chargers
But I had yet to experienced any problems

I don't believe in over charging, though it is said the circuity will auto cut off once 100% is reached. I disconnect phone after 100% charge and I do not practiced overnight charging. I have tweaked all my phones ( Samsung, HTC, Sony) so well that the battery drain the most will drop overnight over 7 to 9 hours rarely goes beyond 3% . I consider a 5% drop unacceptable already

Opening apps is comparatively faster than Note 2. Only certain apps returning to homescreen it lags obviously vs Note2
But all these lag behaviour I can accept. I am not so extreme as you-lah to assess all these stuffs.
I read your description of all your frames /animation stuffs - it doesn't bother me at all. To me is totally unimportant. The micro second difference does not affect me lah.
The smoothness I refer to the transition moving among homescreens and scrolling inside app drawers

Hate animation stuffs ; I disabled all of them if I can in any of the apps having such features. First thing to go is all the default settings in settings/developer options - all i switch it off
So that is why I never bother about such stuffs

I remember how you described the differences in bravia vs non Bravia - heck I cannot really even see the differences. I need a buddy to highlight to me his Xperia Z vs mine ( Bravia disabled) and at the end of the day I said NO BIG DEAL - I can happily survive without bravia engine

The back scroll is temperamental - it sometimes work immediately but mostly need a few times tapping to get it working well. I used it only to take screenshots and since is a rarely perform task I can live with it

If you buy stuffs like Pantech, you don't even think about warranty -lah!

If got problem, return to seller and pray you can get it back within a month or two !!
