Me too..all my previous S3 I leave it on overnight charging. Yet none of the phone kena SDS. Still. .all that S3 I used ranging from 1 - 4 months only.

Btw..I'm just speculate here. Something must have been triggered for those SDS to happen. The mystery question is what...lolz

i worry because too much bloatwares and who knows after update will make device lag thats what i dont like

or does it have something to do with "software update" in apps manager ?

Hehe..S4 with its powerful processor can run those bloated 4.2.2 nicely but not S3. Maybe S3 can have a Lite version on all those special S4 features.

I think Samsung engineer/technician already have tons of special features in their disposal. First they built a phone...put a certain processor then start putting those special features one by one..until they feel enough at certain point where the phone start stuttering.

Then they say..okay..we release this phone with these certain amount of features.. Now the phone is ready to be release into market...lolz

For me..since my phone have those pesky red marks..if SDS happen then my phone will be a RM1.3K paperweight... Bwahaha

Putting the phone at the AC vent might cool down the phone temperature but I'm afraid it won't solve your problem.

Did you disable your data network. Some app/widget might keep on looking for data network for updates/sync and may resulting the temperature rise..though I don't think it can go as high as 50°C.

Best way is to do factory reset and use only the pre-install app (without those your own downloaded one) for one or two days. See if the problem solved.
If solved..then you can start redownload one or two apps back and monitor the temperature again. Continue till all your previous apps fully downloaded. Quite a lot of works and monitoring but it's the only way..I'm afraid.

These 2 days my phone is acting really weird. The temp will go up till 50c for no apperent reason. I already install watchdog and cpu monitor to see if there is any rogue apps thats causing this. Didnt find any. Use BBS and cpu spy to see if i have any wakelock problem, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Just went pj sc 2day to change my usb cable, asked them and they say have to leave the phone 2-3 days. And they say usually they solve the prob by wiping the phone and do clean install. Im trying to avoid that (+ i didnt unroot my phone).
Any of u have this prob? And i saw at shops 2day got this phone holder we can clip at the aircon vent. Is it safe to put our phone there for long period? Coz thinking of using it while i try to find whats causing this heat issue

If u mean the press home button n press the trash can icon, yes done it. Will try to uninstall 1by 1 1st and if nothing change, i will do a factory reset. So lazy to install n configure my apps back.  But do have suspicion on dolphin browser beta, i uninstalled it and my temp is now hovering around 40-42c.

so at what temperature will shutdown?
