still waiting for the launch of HS20 and the full review of it....

if it turns out to be positive, then hell yeah i will get 1 asap......

otherwise, will rather get its older brother or any nikon p-series / panasonic fz-series.....

afterall, new full set HS10 is now retailing for 12xx @ miyamondo.....

i am very impressed with s200.

very easy to use and the picture quality is very good after making some changes in the default picture settings....

i have shaky hands. the shutter release helps a lot especially when i have zoom out to the max....

i am still looking for HS10 at the moment mainly because of my budget....hehehe....2nd bridge camera in less than one month...hahaha

i think i'll probably want to get 2nd hand at the moment. looking for less than 1000.....wonder if anyone that want to sell.....

i tried hs10 in berjaya times square and very impressed with it.....i got s200 in first place because i found out from online review and sample photos that s200 has lower noise and better picture quality. but when i tried out hs10.....the picture quality is very good too. since i don't print my pictures more than a4 size, hs10 would also be enough. plus i am searching this for my wife. a very nice bridge camera size for a lady....
s200 a bit tad too big but still usable for my wife

oic.... glad to hear that.... S200 is 1 of my consideration too previously, until i found out that it use rechargeable batt instead of AA.....  sad.gif

but no doubt, the photo quality received lots of praises from those professional reviewers....

but since u are buying for a lady, maybe can try consider something like:

nikon P7000
nikon S9100
fuji F300EXR
panasonic TZ8

not really consider bridge camera, but imho they are suitable for ladies, also with plenty of zoom range....  nod.gif

hmm...to me i don;t really have much preference of what type of battery. of course AA is widely available. but what is important to me is that I have a backup. so that's why i have a spare NP140.

I got an extra battery for my camera. better buy now that later when I can't find any tongue.gif

the cameras that you suggested are good but I specifically looking for manual zoom ring......so right now it's either HS10 or SP570UZ

plus the auto mode for HS10 and SP570UZ are pretty good. very good point and shoot and if need to do manual adjustments, the cameras allow to do that.

superzoom = long zoom range, many extra features, wont burn ur pocket bcoz u dont need to buy lens, but small image sensor....

dslr = better image quality due to larger sensor, but imagine how deep ur pocket will burn if u wanna get few different lenses ranging from macro to portrait to telephoto to etc etc......

if u still dont catch the ball but demand a simple explanation between superzoom vs dslr, just browse through w w w . s n a p s o r t . c o m and click "compare".......

totally agree.

i just want to add these pros of having a superzoom bridge camera against entry level dslr with kit lens:-

- no need change lens. most of the time during travel, you don't have the time and place to change lens. you'll most likely end up losing the moment or getting dust in your camera sensor when changing lens. the only way to solve this is to get a versatile lens for your dslr which will easily cost a bomb
- travel light
- HS10/HS20 also have mechanically linked zoom. so the experience will be very similar to entry level dslr. especially so if the photographer is only using auto mode on the dslr
- ESR function in the camera is very useful
- many more but the few above is already winning points smile.gif
