When outside, under same Sun as yu, Bro... brows.gif

Bro dares
IINM Gaga eng cover has ventilation slits/vents 4air circulation...
(Are there such vents 4Waja cover?)
Probly some serious thinking went in2 final design of Gaga eng cover?
From Waja exp...? icon_idea.gif
So feel it won't b that much hotter under the cover...possibly abit? whistling.gif

I only see 2 slits at the back, over the throttle body....you know, where water from the wiper hole can masuk?

Whether it can prevent water can going in, and whether it is an efficient ventilation, I guess I'll let you be the judge since I never had engine cover over my Gaga.
*
Yup, Bro... notworthy.gif
Yu're correct re location of those vents... thumbup.gif

Mayb...juz mayb...the design of whole cover contributes 2a good flow of hot air upwards...?
Anyway, me no auto design fella at all...nor anywhere even near 2it... sweat.gif
Juz pure speculation nia...haha!
(And mayb 4sake of healthy active discussion?)
Paiseh nia... blush.gif

Anyone in2 mechanics of airflow designing...? whistling.gif

ps. At times me kinda tempted 2remove this cover & compare eng temp (with & w/out cover) via OBD2 sensors...
Any Bro tried that yet? icon_rolleyes.gif
pps. And if the cover do produce any significant "unhealthy" probs, feel Proton wld hv removed them since they were still there since 1st Gaga till late 2011...
Was only removed after FLX with IAFM+ were intro...?

Add :

On further "braining" (watever little me hv...), kinda feel Gaga eng cover is MORE 4prevention of water collecting in "middle valley" space...
If one compares design of similar engines with mid location of spark plugs, they all hv (IINM) a sp centre SP cover... tongue.gif
However our Gaga does NOT!

And so on...feel me blah blah 2much oledi... brows.gif

ps. So sorry 2bore yu Bros...me disappear now...icon_rolleyes.gif

Some discussions on engine covers in overseas forums. Not Saga, but something to ponder about

For me, if just to protect the plugs and coils, the Campro CPS cover makes the most sense, just enough to cover that area.

Hi Bro... notworthy.gif
From the refs yu posted, gen conclusion is that a cover :
1. Is mainly for aesthetic purposes ie hide unsightly misc engine entrails/parts;
2. Keeps xtra heat in...useful 4cold countries or on our cold mornings eg 4faster engine warm-up 2optimum running temp.

So feel, it's not a necessity in our Gagas... tongue.gif

Final decision...
for those whose Gagas hv the cover...2keep or take it off?
For those w/out...2add a cover or let it b "naked" as is?

YOUR decision... notworthy.gif

ps. The cover might offer some protection for Gaga's COP system...? whistling.gif
pps. And yup, the Campro CPS style cover wld b a better idea...mayb due2 Gagas uglier IAFM parts, there was this need 2cover more? Haha!

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Apr 28 2013, 02:34 PM)
sent my GF new myvi S for free 1000km service last thursday.

SA said everything is free including labor and parts. However, she said you need to change ATF during 1000km service and 20000km service, which is something new to me. IINM, 1000km service only change engine oil.

I do suspect that the SC is trying to make some extra money. My GF ended up paying 50++ for the ATF plus some replacement for broken bumper clips.

Optimally, I shall check the service interval table first before going to the SC, but didnt have much time to do that. The SA uses the same analogy on the engine to justify the ATF change. Debris from new transmission should be flushed out to lengthen the lifespan of the transmission.

My car technical knowledge is limited to counter that. Is it really necessary to change the ATF at 1000km?
*
Hi Bro... notworthy.gif

AFAIK Previous AT GBs require ATF change @1k Km 1st service...even incl GB ATF Filter replacement...
Our Gaga service schedule (at least my FL one) does NOT mention any such ATF change @1000 Km! rclxub.gif
The SC me went to also not ask nor did so...
Moreover, it appears our Gaga 4AT GBs do NOT hv any such Filter 2b replaced! sweat.gif

Now me wonder how long can our 4AT GBs last.... whistling.gif
