Some article wrote by me (James, EXtionHD/Blog)

Red Filter Comparison For GoPro Hero3
Why do we need red filter for GoPro?
Water absorb sunlight’s red spectrum, the deeper you go the more blue your shots will get and red filter is use to counteract it. Ever since the introduction of GoPro Dive Housing, demand for red filters for GoPro housing has significantly increased over time. Often we’re asked which Red Filter is the best hence we came out with our own comparison of red filters available inside our store. (Please Click Spoiler for full article)

Another gripe I have: recording in-car; if I want to record by mounting the camera on driver side window, I can't seem to get a good angle. Not sure if its in my head or not, but I seem to remember getting it slightly better with my Hero2...
*
you mean like recording your steering and car direction?

anyway this is how i did it..

Guys, i bought gopro hero 2 ~6 months ago but never had time to go thoroughly with all the functions.

Last week i tried the time lapse and mounted it on my balcony. 1 shot every 30 seconds (capturing sunset). Came back an hour later, found out that the cam had turned itself off and the front casing where the lens protrude out is fogged up. The cam itself is quite hot.

The ambient temp is around 26-28 (got my min max temp..lol)

Ever happened to you guys before?

edit: same thing happened when using the vid function for over ~45mins
*
the camera is design to shut off itself when overheat, there are several solutions for this that you can try.

1) take off the backdoor if you're at a safe location
2) take off the battery back cover, it helps regardless backdoor is on or not
3) fogging due to overheat inside the casing, anti fog will help

anyway we still have some tricks in hand to remove fogging even without anti fog biggrin.gif drop by our showroom some day and we might help out, no cost nod.gif

Hi.. new user of gopro here..excited about it! But have a major concern...my wifi remote that came with my black gopro3 doesn't turn on. Only turns on and connects well with the camera if it's charging or connected to a usb port. Once detached from notebook/pc, it turns off and doesn't come on. Anyone having similar issues?? Thank you
*
sounds like a faulty remote probably battery problem. i suggest you email gopro directly and see what they can do for you.

i have the lcd screen, and it came with the additional back cover that let's you use the touch screen when its in the water proof casing. it doesn't work well underwater but honestly, why would you need to sentuh sentuh under water? wanna ambil gambar or take video can change with the buttons on the camera. the touchscreen back cover is mainly just for you to adjust and look through photos without taking out the camera from the case.
*
more like "water resistant" than waterproof up to 3m blush.gif my customer brought it for snorkelling but leakage, thank goodness she took it for water test 1st.

Hi, do u have backscatter filter for hero3?
*
Won't be bringing it soon as we experience some negative feedback from Hero2's edition, easy to scratch and hard to take care of it (you attached it near-permanently to your camera)

can you help to bring me one or two unit of the backscatter?

i personally using snake river prototyping, prefer it as i can always take out the red filter when i have my video lights on and place a macro lens instead. its fits 55mm filters

as much as i like using it to record, i still think hero3 and hero3+ doesnt have much different. lol.

I only use 1080p and 960p so far, forget about 4k etc. gua punya tv cannot support lol!!! So just buy with any that meets your budget.

pm me if you need any idea or how to use, no charges and won't force you buy from me biggrin.gif

- heavy user of action camera. owner of gopro hero, hero2, hero3, drift hd ghost, hd 1080p, ion air pro plus, sony hdr-as15.

lol, kinda silly, but how feasible it is to use this as a day-2-day camera? tongue.gif
*
laugh.gif its a "camcorder" to be exact. imaging ability is just a "extra function"

day-2-day, you cannot ask for anything other than "snap photo" eg. i want bokeh/i want zoom in/poor low light
