hi guys, i am blur of the different models for S4 such as snapdragon, exynos etc.....can someone help me here what is the main difference between the models?
*
i suggest that TS put up some info (or in FAQ) on the difference of the 2 models in the 1st page, S600 vs exynos, LTE or not, and also some brief explanation on the 4+4 core in exynos. too many people asking the same question over and over again.

Sorry, din meant to pinpoint you or anything. just suggesting so that in future, new user/forummer can be guided easier.

Yes it does, while it is fast, LTE also drain the battery life faster smile.gif and not to forget the quota.

curious, why using lte will drain your data quota faster? what makes u say so?

Loading YouTube for example, with LTE, zapped whole video loaded instantly, whereas 3G won't. Add this adds up everyday, you'll use up data faster. On my Xperia Z, I used to spend only 1G a month, now at least 2GB, especially with all these election videos smile.gif

I don't think it's stupid to get non LTE S4 (though I personally will not as I've enjoyed the speed) because most of us on WiFi most of the time. LTE is super nice bonus say you are out and you need to view a video or download an app update or pdf attachment, you will go yeah! as you look at how fast the download completes.

hmmm... so u r sayng because the video loads up faster, u end up haveing more time to load and watch more videos, that's y it is draining your quota faster?

when user download 1GB movie, then it's 1GB quota utilised, regardless of using 2G, 3G or LTE.

then to be fair, it's not the "fault" that LTE drains your quota faster. it's the user that's using more frequent of the data by utilising the faster LTE speed. it's is purely the user's choice to download more content or not.

#1. not everyone knows what MK means... even i din know. I tot you meant Mount Kinabalu... tongue.gif

#2. how does LTE use up quota faster? try downloading 10GB file using LTE (maybe 10 mbps connection) vs dial up of 56kbps... which one hits quota faster? biggrin.gif#3. in regards to my fren's iphone getting less than 1mbps on masix lte in pj section 14... i guess my fren got a defective iphone5 then...  doh.gif  wink.gif

so u are saying:
1. LTE download your 10GB file faster, get the job done within 2 days. and u are saying "bad LTE use up my quote in 2 days"
2. 56kbps download 10GB file slower, get the job done after 2 weeks. and u r saying "good 56kbps cos it only use up my quota after 2 weeks"

Hi, anyone knows which Maxis center still got black GS4? A staff at Maxis Shaftsbury Square told me they only got white ones...

Thinking of getting the phone with TalkMore48 + 3GB data package, but after re-calculate, I decided to take up the SurfMore75 5GB data package. The main reason is I don't talk or sms much.

SurfMore75 (RM75) vs TalkMore48 + 3GB (RM116) = RM41 difference
Maxis to Others rate: call (0.20/min) and sms (0.15/sms)

I can still make 117 min calls and send 117 smses with the RM41 extra if I choose SurfMore75 package ( RM41 / [0.20+0.15]=117.14 ). Plus I get extra 2GB data!

* both with 1 year contract and same price for the phone @RM1699
** previously using Umobile RM28 prepaid package and I can't even finish the free 100 min calls + 30 smses in 30 days.

Any better ideas guys?

i am using surfmore50 now and i must say it suits my needs as i didn't call much nowadays, more less on sms. for your case, if you seldom call and sms, surfmore is the best choice. your calculation seems logical as well.

what's more important is to sign up a plan which suits your needs. do not sign up plans which give you more call/sms/data than ur actual needs. choose the plan wisely and you can benefit from cheaper phone price and yet fully utilise the call/data plan. u won't lose this way.
