mike3300, vista has been macbook capable, just that some were worried if or not it runs aero (all the eye-candy vista has to offer). from what these sites say, it can. but let's wait for the final thing to be released. also hope there will be a rev b of the macbooks soon.
civic89, you can try missing sync or there are other softwares to do so.

1zr4el, i mean upgrading the firmware for the macbook, not upgrading the software, i.e. 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 is upgrading the software.
Try searching the apple support site. but if your macbook had random shut downs, take it to a apple centre, you should get a new replacement, apparently it is a logic board problem.
rgds.

no problem, mb has no mouse. fyi, even the mb too comes with a remote. in macs, there is an option button you press down together with a click that works as your right click. am not sure if this works in windows. in fact now the mb's and mbp's have a trick whereby you use two fingers to get the right click. not sure how, any mb users can help?

dsiew you can do that in os x too, but there is another trick where you can use only two fingers in the trackpad, do not know how it goes abt...
well, benque, usb mouse is the best solution but depends, like for me if i am surfing from my bed or when i have the lappie on my lap, i'd rather use the trackpad.

kyosuke86, yes it does have a remote. like i said before, there is another way where you do not have to use the keyboard. http://macnewsblog.com/2006/05/can_your_ma...ro_do_this.html

QUOTE(prasys @ Sep 23 2006, 02:41 PM) how often does a mac os hangs compared to windows?? Rare or None , even if it hangs , you could run other programs . Well , thats the beauty , unlike in windows explorer.exe hangs and you're pretty much screwed. Yesterday , my finder hung and I could still launch iTunes , sync and play games ,s urf the net....Even if the main core fails , of courselah i cannot explore my HDD and stuff like that. But hey , at least i could save my work and do a reboot Windows XP itself is buggy , if you install it to any PeeCee or Macs...it would be still be the same...But IMO , it looks like XP runs better on a Mac then on a PC itself ! aha, that's true, have experienced it a couple of times, say about 5-6 times so far, actually was running a lot of apps and think i opened this particular app, guess it was the app's problem.

QUOTE(yetieater @ Oct 6 2006, 03:55 PM) I hear it's all eye candy. I haven't given it a shot, but I have seen a number of screenshots and read some impressions from the Betas. Vista doesn't seem like much to me I want to go Mac :] also, apple has yet to release .5's big update/change. i'm guessing the finder...let's see..

QUOTE(supazta @ Oct 9 2006, 01:35 AM) duno the name of the shop. my friend went there. she's in kelantan and im in nz. LoL apple is getting cooler and more affordable for poor people like me. heheh it's cg computers, wonder which employee said that, but afaik cg never provides training for their employees, expect them to learn it all themselves, i know few guys there very well. a few of their employees just sit there like fools, of course there are a few who are really interested in learning.

QUOTE(yetieater @ Oct 11 2006, 11:20 PM) those links refer to the macbook pro, not the macbook, i have seen a picture of vista running macbook but i doubt the low-end graphics card can run aero smoothly even with lots of ram...time will tell...

it is heavier than the 12" powerbook i had, probably due to its 1.3" screen size difference...but i personally do not like the sharp palm rest below the keypad. and the keyboard, i don't like it, not for me, thats why i have to consider this machine out! decided after playing with it for a long time...shall wait for mbp core 2 duo...only if i can get it at discounted rate in the US...budget is around RM 6.5K.

QUOTE(MacDaNife @ Oct 14 2006, 10:36 PM) In the end, you buy what best fits your needs. If you want a Mac then get a Mac. If you're in love with the form factor of the Vaios: then pay the premium. Your shoulders will thank you as you lug the lighter laptop around airports. I've found (after 3 years of trying VERY hard to love the WinXP) that I prefer OSX. I'd very much like to buy a lightweight 13in PowerBook (I prefer that name to MacBook). When it finally does show up that is. all your posts suggest that you are a very practical and rational person. not many people have that, i am sure you are a very successful person. that's the best way of thinking. been following your posts for a while now. get what's best for you, not because you want to be cool, or trendy or to show off. I used Mac OS for sometime, I really do love it, but it too has it's own short-comings. Personally, I feel that Windows is good enough for me as I can do all the stuff I want there. I wanted to get the MacBook very badly as I thought I could have the best of both worlds. I've been to my local Apple Centre numerous times to try out the black MacBook. I am not too happy with the sharp edge of the palm rest and the keyboard is not for me. I need to get a new laptop soon, but I can wait till next year. My budget is RM 6.5K. Either I get a souped up Dell XPS M1210 or a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro with education discount in US or Australia.
